PHILIP ANDREW OBERKROM Philip Andrew Oberkrom met Jesus peacefully in his sleep at home Monday morning June 20, 2005 one day before his 25th wedding anniversay to his high school sweetheart. His earthly family includes his wife, Diane Oberkrom, his son August "Augie" Ian Oberkrom both from Canton, Georgia: his brother William Ronald "Ron" Oberkrom, sister Nancy Lee Dunne, both from St. Louis, Missouri; like parents Paul and Marge Keklikian from St. Louis, Missouri; fifteen nieces and nephews; great nieces, great nephews, cousins and countless friends. He is now reunited with his parents, Bill and Lee Oberkrom, in heaven. He is and always will be a beloved husband, dad, uncle, cousin, nephew, brother-in-law, son-in-law and friend. Phil was a cancer survivor, which strongly molded his outlook on life. Every day was a gift to him. He suffered with many serious diseases and injuries throughout his short life, but touched many lives despite that. He loved Jesus and going to Town Center Community Church. He headed up the Building Expansion team there and was a faithful longstanding member of the Men's Saturday Morning Prayer Breakfast. He was never motivated by money or power, but by giving of himself to others. He was an extremely honest, thoughtful and generous man. He loved having friends over, playing cards and games and making sure everyone had enough to eat. He loved music. He listened to rock, country, R&B, Christian and classical. He was a par golfer in high school, once hitting a hole in one at the North Shore Country Club. He was a gifted craftsman, making much of the furniture in his family home and loved old home restoration projects. A tireless shopper, he loved finding good deals that no one else could find. He loved politics, never missing an opportunity to vote or watch a debate on television. He hated to miss the O'Reilly Factor, American Hot Rod, Overhaulin' and American Chopper. He could build or repair nearly anything. He loved dogs, children and the fresh aroma of the lumber aisles at Lowes Home Improvement Center. We will miss his passionate commentaries on what is right and what is wrong with his world. We are certain that God must have suddenly needed his advice and skill to maintain his many mansions in heaven and keep the costs down! We love you, Phil. In lieu of flowers, please make gifts to the Town Center Community Church Building Expansion Fund. A "Celebration of Life" service will take place at Town Center Community Church, 1040 Blackwell Rd, Marietta, GA 30066 at 4:00pm Thursday, June 23, 2005, with a Celebration Buffet and swim party at the family home immediately afterward. MEDFORD-PEDEN FUNERAL HOME IN MARIETTA IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
