I had a chance meeting with Deb while I was home on leave from the Marines the Summer of 1975. I asked how she had been and was saddened to hear she had been left at the alter by one of our Tech classmates. Deb went on to tell the story of how Jack surprised her with a last minute demand to convert to Catholic or he would walk out of the Church. To know Deb was to be sure this was something she would never do, seeing it as a betrayal to her Pastor father as well as to her father's church. I believe it safe to say such a sweet, kind sole as she certainly died of a broken heart. So young and oh so sad.
