Smieja, Michael Charles - Age 44 Of Brooklyn Park Was taken unexpectedly and tragically on November 21, 2004. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Michael worked for FMC/United Defense for nearly 25 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Deb (Sullivan). He will be deeply missed by his wife, Carrie (Welsh); children, Amanda, Bradley, Thomas, and Michaela; parents, Michael and Laurentia; sister, Edane Engelby; brothers, Paul, Dan, Ken, and Gerard; the Welsh and Sullivan families; relatives and good friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Friday, November 26, 2004 at The Church of St. Gerard, 9600 Regent Ave N., Brooklyn Park (763-424- 8770) with visitation at the church 2 hours before service.
