Andy was out for Cross Country in Junior high and ran for Park jr high in his ninth grade (Oltman and Park Jr. High schools ran as one before that). I just remember his stride. He had a wonderful long stride that Oltman Coach Good stood and said, "look at the Stride."
He also said, "Frazer, what would it take you to beat Andy Abrego." Andy held the course record.
The last time we spent together was attending Fall sports banquet with Andy, Rick Johnson, Steve Hardy and myself. They had a great laugh at my cat biting the dog before hand... then my dad drove us to Hafner's..
Melody I was in the same homeroom with you,Andy Donna Absey.... and remember how Mr. Fort would tease some of our classmates and Donna was one to give it right back to him. Sadly we have lost Andy. Donna and Darrell Amacker from our class homeroom. Maybe we will see you at the class reunion on October 11th. We are sadly losing too many of our classmates. Take care.

Andy was a quiet guy and kept a bit to himself.

I remember in Mr. Fort's room I had to sit at the same table next to Russ Armbruster. Behind me was Wayne Anderson and Andy. They all thought it would be funny to put a grasshopper on my left shoulder, well I turned around and flicked the grasshopper back at Andy.
I guess I spoiled their not so funny act after I didn't jump and scream ... Joke was on them 😂

I remember Andy in school but didn't really hang around him. He was in some of my classes.
He seems to be a nice guy. What was the cause of death if anyone knows.
Jon Kroschel
Unfortunately, Andy passed away due to AIDS.
