If you went to college, where did you go and what did you study?

Kristi Denta

What is your occupation?

I am a morning news reporter for the NBC in Cincinnati. It’s the same station Jerry Springer used to work at. It’s a great job --really exciting and new every day. I cover fires, murders, fatal car crashes, blizzards you know, fun stuff! Actually I really do get to do some fun stuff. I get lots of live air time which is necessary for building a good resume.  The only drawback—I wake up at 2:45 am every morning and work out of a live truck so I can’t drink any coffee! (Zzzzzzz’s)

Have you traveled around or outside the US?

I went to a fantastic wedding in Ecuador last November. The reception was at the Andres Gomez house if any of you are familiar with pro tennis. I went to Spain to see some friends for my birthday this passed year.  It was the second time I’d been there and again it wasn’t my favorite place in the world. I really was to go to Rome next.  London Rocks!

What are some of your favorite memories from LHS?

Decorating my grey Buick sophomore year after school. It was the class float. We decked it out like a sail boat because homecoming that year had some kind of tropical theme. I looked like crap but we piled in-- no exaggeration 13 people in that car including in the trunk. I’m pretty sure it did major damage to my car’s underbelly as my 86’ Buick Century scraped around the track during half time.

The summer before 9th grade was a blast, especially research class with Mr. Dickman. We had so much fun and did very little research. Remember water lock? I told my sister it was apple sauce once and told her to try it.

I fondly remember the South American capitals song in Spanish class. Mexico, D.F Mexico. Guatemala, Guatemala….

Kali Kollmeyer Dambeck

Are you married, in a relationship, or single?

Married to Matthew Dambeck who went to Boca Ciega High School.  Although we have had mutual friends since high school and both went to UF, we just began dating on Christmas 2004.  We’ve been married since December 1, 2007.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I coach high school cheerleading, very time consuming and a huge reality check in regards to age/years that have gone by, but lots of fun and great memories uncovered from LHS.

Tell us about any other interesting jobs you've have since high school?

Helped start up a grassroots clinic in Austin, Texas for the uninsured and took it to $10.7 M in three years!

Are you married, in a relationship, or single?

Yes, I am happily married. Amber and I met in high school (she went to Bogie), but we didn’t get together until a few years later.  Timing had never been “right” for us, so we finally got together in early ’99. We got married on in 2001 in Fayetteville, NC when I got the call to go to Afghanistan.  We then got married with all the family on May 18, 2002 in Tampa, FL.  We have been together for almost 10 years now.

Were you in a sorority or fraternity? Other organizations you were/are involved with?

I became a Freemason when I was in the Army which is one of the oldest fraternities in the world.  It was because of my grandfather and some of my platoon battle buddies pushing me and pushing me to become one.  Then I joined Kiwanis International to help with rebuilding the community one playground at a time.  J  I also have been a Big Brother in the Big Brother Big Sister program to 2 young men.  I regret to inform that my Little Brother Roderick McCollough died about 6 months ago in a car accident.  L

What are your hobbies and interests?

I recently completed my first triathlon. It’s something that I definitely see myself getting into. I love to work out – strength training, running, cycling, etc.  Also, I have been writing poetry since high school and hope to publish a book in the near future.

Are you married, in a relationship, or single?

I am currently in a relationship with a wonderful woman whose name is Tiffani.  We met while overseas serving in the Army.  She is a West Point graduate and a helicopter pilot, so needless to say, she is a lot cooler than I am.

Have you traveled around or outside the US?

I have traveled to Germany, Afghanistan, and the beautiful country of Iraq.  I also lived in Hawaii for three years while assigned to the 25th Infantry Division. Living in Hawaii was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

What are your hobbies and interests?

My hobbies are playing golf and softball and I am not very good at either one.

Erin Dupuy Connelly

Where do you live now?

I live in the Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman to be exact). It is tiny little island just south of Cuba. I have been here for just over 3 years now and I have no plans of moving anytime soon. I moved here because at the time my husband could not work in the states and I could not work in Australia and my UK visa expired. Stewart had a friend Cayman and he said it was a nice spot so we moved down.

Are you married, in a relationship, or single?

I just recently married Stewart Connelly on March 16th in Lakeland, FL. We had been dating for 4 years when we finally tied the knot. Stewart and I met in Dublin, Ireland. This is funny because a week after the reunion Stewart and I will be headed back to the same spot where we met but this time to attend my older brother Clay’s wedding to his wee Irish Lass. I guess my family has a soft spot for Ireland.

If you went to college, where did you go and what did you study?

I went to UF and earned an undergrad in Psychology and a graduate degree in Management.

Dan Turk

Do you have any children or pets?

No kids, but I have a pair of dogs. One black Greyhound/German Shepherd (Audi) and one purebred black and tan German Shepherd (Bubbles). Kids aren’t a huge priority for me as I plan on working in schools and will have plenty of other people’s kids with which to spend time. This is subject to change without notice, of course.

What is your occupation?

I’m currently a Chili’s server, Corporate Trainer, and Store Trainer. I chose this career because I was a server during undergrad and realized it was a great way to earn money with very flexible hours. The training thing just followed naturally as I am a leader and a teacher at heart. That and Corporate Trainers get to travel all over and open stores – something that I cannot do right now due to grad school. No, it’s not at all what I thought of during my time at Lakewood – I wanted something tech-related but abandoned that about three years into my college career after I found it boring and really not my thing.

What are your hobbies and interests?

You name it; I’ll probably enjoy it. Mostly I’m found just talking to people and hearing their stories – I really am a people person. Still love loud music, fishing, and shooting pool. I hope I continue to have breakfast talks from 2am-sunrise with my coworkers at the diner across the street after we close on a Saturday night.

Are you married, in a relationship, or single?

I have been in a relationship with my partner, Ron, since February of 2002. We met at a bar in St. Pete while I was home for Winter break.  He is originally from Ohio but has live in Florida for the past 20+ years.

Have you traveled around or outside the US?

I have been fortunate enough to travel to several places. After high school, a group of us took a cruise to the Bahamas. During college, we spent time in North Carolina skiing, I went to Las Vegas for my 21st birthday, Georgia, New York. I got to attend the Final Four in Indiana in 2000 I believe. After college, I went on a 2 week tour of Italy. I have also been to Biloxi, New Orleans, Denver, Boston, the Grand Canyon, San Francisco/Napa Valley, Arlington/Washington D.C., Toronto, London/England, Amsterdam, Tenerife.

What are some of your favorite memories from LHS?

Growing corn in the C.A.T. circle only to have it rip out just before our Thanksgiving harvest, Mr. (Dr.) Shapiro microwaving popcorn for 5 hours instead of 5 minutes, Summer Research class, although getting the beaker full of boiling water spilled on me wasn’t too fun.

Gretchen Hadlett Stares

Do you have any children or pets?

We are expecting our first child in August.  We don't know if it will be a boy or girl, but it will be a Patriots fan.

What is your occupation?

I work in software development for electronic health records for a hospital information system company.  I started at the company when I moved to Massachusetts installing/training hospitals on physician system and then transferred to development last year.  I originally thought I was going to teach high school science, but realized it wasn't for me.

My classmates would be surprised to know that I...

They'd probably be surprised I married a guy 10 years older than me that I met one late night on a cruise.
