"Katie was very close to her family. She babysat her younger brothers, Sam and Jesse, and was like a third parent to both of them. She was very close to her mother and talked with her daily and spent many days shopping with her or just spending time with her. She vacationed with her family whenever possible.
On November 12, 2004, she was murdered while adjusting a hurricane claim at a rental property in Tampa, Florida for her employer."

I saw Katie a week or so before this tragic event. I was working at SPPD and she had come to pick up a report for her job. We swapped numbers and decided we should have lunch. It is sad but we never got together.She was a very sweet person and she got along well with many of her peers. I remember talking to her after school about prom and her dress. She was so excited about going and was telling me about how she spent $300 on the dress! LOL! I kept thinking, wow that must be some kind of dress. :-) She was always in high spirits and I never heard her speak unkindly. Truly a loss to this world but I trust that I will see her again in the world made new. My prayers are with her family.

She was one of the sweetest people I knew. We used to work in Tierra Verde in High School, she was at the ice cream shop and i was at the Subway next door. She always managed to make me laugh even when i didn't want to. I can't believe something so evil happened to somebody so beautiful and honest. God bless you Katie, I'll never forget you.
