HALTOM CITY - Dr. Rev. Richard K. Tosh Sr. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
His early life was influenced greatly by his grandfather, Marlin "Buster Keeton, who played the piano and took him to all the gospel singing concerts. He came to Dallas and met Emma Lee when he went to Seminary and fell in love at first sight. Together, they walked through life hand in hand in the ministry. He was a music minister and pastor in several churches before becoming pastor of East Side Baptist Church in 1981, where he served until his death. He also sang with his family and many friends along the way and also promoted gospel music.
Richard served as a director for the Southern Gospel Music Association of Texas for many years. He was recently named Promoter of the Year 2019 by the Southern Gospel Music Association of Texas.
He loved his God, his wife, his family, and his cats.
Richard is preceded in death by his precious wife of 50 years, Emma Lee Tosh, who was the light and music of his life.
He is survived by his son, Richard Tosh II and daughter-in-law, Sharon Tosh; grandson, Richard Tosh III; his sister, Barbara Foust and husband, Howard Foust; granddaughter, Brandi Korte and husband, Nick Korte; great-granddaughter, Kate Korte; grandson, Jason Adams and wife, Heather Adams; great-granddaughter, Kylie Adams; great-grandson, Logan Adams; and a host of nieces and nephews.
