Edward Barton
1941-1999
Edward Barton, 58, of Pontiac, died on Friday, November 19, 1999 at Saint James Hospital.
A memorial service was held at Grace Church in Pontiac. He was cremated and his ashes interred at the Church.
Ed was born June 13, 1941 in Streator. His was the son of Carl F. and Alicia Barton. He married Jeannine Malmrose May 7, 1978.
He had one son, John Pitchford of Pontiac, two brothers, Carl G and John D Barton of Streator and a sister Patsy Ray of Portland, Oregon, and seven grandchildren.
Jody Pitchford, a son, preceded him in death.
Ed worked for several doctors at Saint James Hospital as their answering service.
He attended Sherman Elementary School, and Streator High School.

I loved Eddie Barton. We attended Sherman School together, and he was my first boyfriend. We got into trouble sometimes for talking or passing notes to each other in class. We met in the park, rode bikes together, and sometimes would meet in the back row of the Granada. He was a good friend, and the tragic accident he had affected all of us who knew him well. He lived his life to the fullest, and I was pleased to learn that he married and had a family.

I always remember Eddie as Sharon's Eddie. He was a good kid. It was so sad to see how he and his best friend Mike's lives turned out.
