DES MOINES, Iowa —Kenneth Floyd Burkett, 61, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Streator, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2004.

 

Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines, Iowa handled the arrangements.

 

Private memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Park Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jamie Swanson officiated. Richard Burkett, brother, gave the message.

 

Music was provided by Nancy Mueller, pianist. Swanson sang “Nearer To the Heart of God,” and Jennifer Berosek, niece, sang “In This Very Room.”

 

Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.

 

Born June 20, 1942, in Streator, he was the son of Floyd and Gladys Burkett. They survive.

 

Also surviving are sons, Brian (Jean) Burkett of Champaign, Kenneth (Penny) Burkett and Kirk Burkett, both of Streator; daughters, Brenda Rexroad and Kristine Schriever, both of Streator; a brother, Richard (Karen) Burkett of New Castle, Pa.; and a sister, Beth (Mrs. Mark) Berosek of Streator.

 

He graduated from Streator Grade School and Streator High School.

 

He worked at Owens-Illinois Glass for several years before moving to Iowa.
