John K. Corder

Classmate John Corder, 76, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at  2 p.m. Friday, February 8, at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Streator.  Monsignor Philip Halfacre will officiate.  Visitation will be fron 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the Church.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Solon - Telford Funeral Home, Streator, is in charge of the arrangements.

John was born May 13, 1942 in Streator.  He was the son of Louie and Louise (Yuhas) Corder.  He married Karen Fellows on July 23, 1977.  She survives in Streator

He is also survived by a son, Christopher (Rebecca) Corder, of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Mary Margaret, Robert and William Corder; a sister, Mary Ann (Neal) Emm, of Streator; a brother, Randall Canale, of Bolinbrook; and his mother-in-law, Hazel Fellows, of Streator.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Tom Canale; and his mother and father-in-law, Gordon and June Fellows.

John was born and raised in Streator.  He attended St. Stephen's Grade School and graduated from Streator High School with the Class of 1960.

He was an educator for most of his professional career, teaching first at Streator High School and then becoming the principal at St. Mary's Grade School.

He was a member of St. Stephen's Church through the years.
