John Kleppin

1941-1989

John Kleppin, 48, died at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, October 19, 1989.   He had been a patient there since a furnace explosion in his home on October 6.  His funeral was held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Minonk, with military services conducted by the American Legion Post 593, Lacon.

Burial was in the Minonk Cemetery.

John was born March 12, 1941, in Streator.  He was the son of Thomas and Alma Mae Mills Kleppin.  He married Ruth Knack January 26, 1964, in Streator.  He graduated from Streator High School in 1960.  He was employeed by Lacon Manufacturing and resided in Washburn.

He was survived by his wife, Ruth; sons Donald of Streator and Ronald of Washburn; a daughter Connie; and one grandson.  He was also survived by his mother, Alma Kleppin, Streator.

He was a member of the Lacon American Legion Post No. 593 and an Army veteran.
