Marlene (Kroprowski) Mattis, 56, of Lansing, Illinois, died Friday, November 20, 1998.
Her funeral was held at St. Stephen's church, Streator, with burial in St. Stephen's Cemetery
Marlene, the daughter of Stanley and Irene (Palasky) Koprowski, was born June 13, 1942, in Streator. She was married to Joseph Mattis.
She is survived by her husband, her mother, and a son, Joe of Lansing; sisters Carol Shields of Dwight and Irene Grube of Streator; and two grandchildren.
She was an active member of St. Mary's Society of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association in Lansing.

Mary Javorsky (Williams)
Marlene and I went through grade school together at St. Stephens. We always sat by each other, and I remember we were cheerleaders together in the eight grade, and how excited we were, when St. Stephens were the basketball champs, and our picture was in the Streator paper.
