John E. Seymour

November 6, 1942 - February 15, 2019

John E. Seymour died on February 15 in Sheridan, Wyoming, at age 76, with his loving son Derek at his side.  John was born in Streator on November 6, 1942, to John D. and Erma L. Seymour.  In addition to Derek of Streator, he is survived by brother, Bob  (Marian) Seymour of Tampa, Florida; sisters, Mary Kay Pleck, of Urbana, IL. and Judith (Mark) Dickey of Raleigh, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

John attended Parkland College and the University of Illinois; and he lived in Champaiagn, IL before moving to Sheridan in the 1980's.

Fascinated since childhood with Europe, he traveled there many times even after losing much of his vision in his 20's.  He spent several summers in Conwy, Wales where he made many friends.

Always a fan of good writing, John was widely read thanks to the Talking Books Service

John was also a spiritual person with his roots in Streator's Christ Episcopal Church.  He was a longtime supporter of causes such as Children's Fund Africa and Amnesty International.  We'll remember him always.

Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery Streator.
