Nancy L. Shepard (Otto), 72, of Streator, passed away at 4:27 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Heritage Health and Rehabilitation in Streator.

Funeral services for Nancy will be at noon Monday, Feb. 3, at Elias Funeral Home with burial to follow the services in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Elias Funeral Home.

Born Aug. 22, 1941, in Streator, she was the daughter of Charles Wesley and Elsie Marie (Wahl) Shepard. She married Robert Dale Otto on Oct. 23, 1962, in Streator.

She is survived by her children, Greg Otto, of Streator, Debra (Jeffrey) Harcar Sr., of Streator, and Cindy (Paul) Behrmann, of Belleville; grandchildren, Sarah (Joe) Urbanec, Jeffrey Harcar Jr., Jessica Harcar, Tyler Ruberstell, Matthew Behrmann and Megan Behrmann; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Urbanec. She also is survived by brothers, Marvin, Marshall (Marilyn) and Richard Shepard; sisters, Donna Lowe, Judy Fialko, Karen (Roger) Baker, Doris Shepard, and Joyce (John) Natt; sisters-in-law, JoAnn and Jamie Shepard; plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, in 2011; brothers, Walter Wesley and Gary "Duke" Shepard; brothers-in-law, Wayne Lowe and Bob Fialko; nephews, Nathan and Gary Shepard; and niece, Heather Shepard.

Nancy attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator Township High School in 1960..

She worked for Ryder First School Bus Company for 23 years, retiring in July 2013.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family and friends.
