STREATOR — Charles E. "Chuck" Talty, 72, of rural Streator, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 29, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at St. Patrick's Church, Ransom, with the Rev. Anthony Ego officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, with a prayer service at 3 p.m. at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ransom.

Mr. Talty was born Jan. 31, 1942, in Streator, the son of Francis and Pauline (Riss) Talty. He married Joyce Jaegle on July 10, 1965, at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator. She survives.

Chuck loved farming with the help of his wife and three sons and enjoyed the interest in farming shown by his grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Ransom, and also attended St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

He served on the board of Emery Green Cemetery and was a member of the La Salle County Farm Bureau.

He attended Palatine Grade School, rural Streator, and was a graduate of Streator Township High School, Class of 1960.

The family wishes to acknowledge the fine care and consideration given to Chuck while a patient at Carle Foundation Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Julie (Tom) Schubart, of Lucas, Texas, and Jennifer (Casey) Hall, of Peoria; three sons, Brian (Michele) Talty and Kevin (LeeAnn) Talty, both of Streator, and Scott (Margaret) Talty, of Ransom; seven grandchildren, Trevor Talty, Alex Cruz, Brandon Talty, Caitlin Talty, Cory Schubart, Derek Schubart and Sydney Hall; and two uncles, Don and Ray Talty.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Ken, Mike, Roger and Dennis Talty and Ron and Nick Jaegle.

Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church, Ransom, the Guardian Angel Outreach program or the donor's choice.
