You were and always will be very special to me. You were my friend who became my sister-in-law. I am so glad that we were able to reconnect when you moved to California from out on the East Coast. You were always fun-loving and able to laugh and make others laugh around you. You have a lot of friends and family who miss you dearly!! I am so glad that I was able to spend 3 weeks with you in California before your passing. I cherished our weekly phone calls to inspire each other to keep up the fight with cancer. I really wish that the oncology staff could have done more to help you.....and to keep you from suffering so much. Through you, I have met one of your friends in L.A. We correspond occasionally. He misses you a lot. If I helped you along the way, I am glad that I could do that for you. Just know that I love you, dear friend and sister....and I miss you so very much. I miss your voice and your thoughts and your laughter. I am sorry that you left so soon. My only thought is that you are no longer suffering.
You are remembered and loved dearly by friends and family.
WE WERE IN GRADE SCHOOL TOGETHER AT ST ANTHONY'S AND WERE BEST FRIENDS. I REMEMBER YOUR LONG RED BRAIDS AND THE NUNS SAID YOU COULD BE LEAD "ANGEL" IF YOU WOULD TAKE OUT YOUR BRAIDS AND WEAR IT DOWN. THAT DIDNT HAPPEN. BUT I REMEMBER THE NUNS WERE DISAPPOINTED WHEN YOU HAD YOUR HAIR CUT. I THINK IT WAS JUST BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR SISTER WAS BORN.
TO THOSE FROM ST ANTHONY'S WHO READ THIS, REMEMBER THE "MAY ALTAR", THE SINGING, "LEARNING" LATIN PRAYERS WITH THE SOON TO BE ALTAR BOYS, FIRST COMMUNION, CONFIRMATION AND GRADUATION.
I too attended St. Anthony's with Sally. She was always a friendly girl, full of cheer. I think her parents and my parents were good friends, there was some connection. I am saddened to hear she had a difficult 10 years battling cancer. It is hearing the news that one of our old classmates has passed away that makes reunions bittersweet.
