Mollilou Locke Merriweather

Not sure who the ones were that pulled this first stunt, but maybe someone will remember. My favorite school story occurred in Mr. Pugsly English class. We were in 11th grade, and it was warm weather so the windows were open. One of the guys ran down and laid on the sidewalk down under the window. Class had started, and someone yelled that this student had jumped out of the window. So Mr. Pugsly ran to the window and and there was the student laying on the sidewalk. At the time it was pretty funny.

Then in the same class, Mr. Pugsly told us to move our desks closer to him. He was smack dab up against the chalkboard. Then he asked us to move back. We moved all the way back to the back of the room. But Mr. Pugsly had the last laugh because we all had to take the final I think.

After graduation, I attended University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Finishing up in 1969, I taught business subjects in high school. In 1971, Tony Merriweather and I eloped. And that's when my nomadic life as a military wife began. My favorite places where we lived were Wuerzburg, Germany (where we lived for 4 years and got to travel some) and Arkadelphia, Arkansas ( we were actually not to far from our parents that was so cool for the kids, and we both earned our Master's Degree. In 1989 Tony retired from the Army after 20 years. When he retired, he did not have a job. I had been praying for a work opportunity in Arkansas. After praying this for several months and nothing turned up, I changed my prayer - I prayed that the Lord would open up a job for Tony wherever the Lord wanted us to be. The very next day Tony got a call from Fort Worth about teaching JROTC. We have been here ever since. I also got my elementary certification right before Tony retired. And thus began my career as a 1st/ 2nd grade teacher. I retired in 2006. I suffered from withdrawal and last year I began volunteer tutoring at my old school - I love teaching reading. This year I have 7 small groups that I work with on reading. Both our grown kids live in Fayetteville, Arkaknsas.
In 2009, Tony said it was time to move near the kids. When we moved to Fort Worth, I said that this is the last time we would move. Wow, did I have to eat my words. Soo here we are in Farmington. Stop by anytime that you are in the area.
