Angelia Berryman Smith

I retired from the Jackson County School System, Gainesboro,Tn. in 2004 after 32 years. 22 of the 32 years I was principal of Jackson County Middle School. I lasted a total.of 14 months retired when I began nursing which I had done in the early 1970's. That lasted for 7 years when I retired and thought I would supervise student teachers at Tennessee Technological University..I had graduated from TTU Three times over the years. That lasted for a while until I ended up in the classroom again. I am teaching English as a second language and Introduction to Education at Tech. Guess they will come in one day and find me not breathing behind my desk. Having a wonderful time with all my students. They are from all parts of the world and they keep me young. I love to teach..love to all.. Well more to add. The ESL school was closed in 2018 and I decided to keep working at least part time. I am working for a company called Spectrum Health Systems which has to do with rehabilitation of convicted felons. I teach classes for the company and also teach as a sub at Upperman High School. Of course that subbing turned into a full time job this last semester. I took a leave for a teacher and am teaching U. S. Government and Economics. BOY what a time to teach either subject. Now I am teaching my HS Seniors on line. It has been a real journey.
