Bethany~ I sure thought Stephen lived behind me. I think I'm going to knock on his back door and visit with him. I can be a neighbor like Wilson on "tool time" haha. Thanks for the info about Stephen.

Hannah Hancock (Maier)

Teresa~ on you out there by Coach Watson and the Freemyers on 10th street?

Was everyone excited about dropping the kids off at school today? Cache was so nervous about starting Jr High today. He looked @ me and said" I'm alittle scared about going here" I said everything would be ok~ You can't get lost in the circle school!! haha When I picked him up he said it was a great day!!
Traffic was bad!! They need to get advise from the parents on how to drop off kids and pick them up! ha ha
Samantha also had a great 1st day @ SHS!

last night Cache cooked supper for the family. He grilled steaks served with salad and then he made fruit ka-bobs (cube cheese, strawberries and grapes on a ka-bob). He also baked an angel food cake all by himself. He's my lil chef on the side!

tonights Menu~ We had Chicken Spag. tonight! What did everyone else have?

I found Leigh Ann today! She's in Beebe and she created her website. Ya'll start bugging her to talk to everyone on the forum!!
We need to find everyone on the missing classmates. I have a some e-mail addresses that I will look up on some of the ones that haven't created their profile yet.

Hope everyone has been enjoying the Olympics. Is anyone going to see the US GYM team @ Alltel Oct 12th? A bunch of us got tickets before the Olympics and I'm glad we did. Shawn Johnson and Nachia (spell ck) will be there. If you have daughters you need to take them to this! We will be sitting in Section 120 Row 10& 11. If anyone wants to get tickets and join our group please do! Since we bought that many tickets we are a group and we get to go in @ 1:15 and pre-watch the gymnasts. The show start @ 3pm that sunday afternoon.

Got to go to bed. Ya'll have a good night.

Hey guys, one thing I thought ya'll would think was neat was that I ran into Stan Cunningham. I was traveling from Iraq, via Kuwait to Arkansas and there he was. I thought that was so weird seeing somone from high school at Ali Asalem Air Base in Kuwait. That is where they send everybody in the theater to go home on leave. It was neat getting to talk to somebody from home on the other side of the wold.

Scott Robnett

Hannah,

Abigail is 6, and is a freak in gymnastics. She loves it, and I think she would absolutely pee her pants to see that show! Could you send the link to buy tickets?
Another thing, tell Cache we will be over tonight to eat!

David, so glad to see you posting again. How are things going over there for you? I know you were glad to see your family...I keep saying it, but, I honestly don't know how you do it. The resolve you guys have, is beyond me.

Holt, quit trying to solicit business on here, or I am going to get Lauren and Carolyn to charge you a fee....Call me, I have to catch up with you. Also, send me Nacho's email address.

Teresa, I was wondering when you guys were going to move to the farm. I miss those days sometimes, being on the farm.

Jil, how is your mom and dad? I am going to stop by their house sometime when I am driving thru Hot Springs. I LOVE your mom! I can just remember her ALWAYS taking such good care of us in Hot Springs....going out on the water all day, and her having steaks, baked potatoes, and just about anything else she had time to make for us. We didn't know, or appreciate, how hard she worked for all of us.

Ashley Adams, you are on my poopoo list...You NEVER answer your phone!

Have we made a decision about where the party will be for the reunion? I would like to help where I am able. Everyone have a good Tuesday!

Beth Carter (Dawson)

Hey
I'm back in business now. I've had a busy couple of weeks. Jack started kindergarten and I am home with Ava. She starts preschool next week. She is ready! I can't believe how much she misses Jack. Although they fight, they are really close.

David, I am so glad to hear from you. I was getting worried. I'm ready for you to be home for good.

Scott Robnett, where have YOU been?

What can we talk about today? Uhmm....all I can come up with is the olympics...I am loving Micheal Phelps right now. I want to be his friend and hang out with him. Don't you? It broke my heart hearing about how mean people were to him growing up. Man, he showed them. It makes me want to put Jack on a swim team. Ha ha.

Hannah
I love hearing what you cook. I am making (well, cooking a frozen one from Costco) spinach lasagne tonight.

Teresa...I'm about to call you. Answer your phone.

I'm was missing all you guys. Glad to be back
Beth

Carolyn Tanksley (Wall)

I sure am glad to see everyone back on here again! Hannah- I am glad you got LeighAnn on here. I tried to call her husband's office awhile back and he had moved jobs. I used to work with the both of them at Harold Ives.

I am trying to get ahold of Donnie Hauge also. Can't seem to ever catch them at home. It is like everything else, I used to email and talk to his wife Kim alot, but time has gotten away and I have not in quite awhile!

I am working from home today so I will check in later!

Scott Robnett

Beth- I have been travelling so much lately. St. Louis for a week, Mississippi for a few days, Memphis for 4 days. It never ends. It seems that once I get home, the REAL work begins, right?

Abigail started first grade yesterday, and I can already feel that she is growing up WAYYYY too fast. She told me yesterday that it wasn't "cool" for me to go in with her, although she had two HUGE bags of supplies. Jeez, I am already uncool.

Any help with how to get "cool" again is appreciated. Maybe I could wear my bubba teeth to her class? How far under her desk do you guys think she would crawl?

19/08/08 04:29 PM #687

Beth Carter (Dawson)

Mr. Robnett...I live in Memphis!! You had better call me next time. I would love to get to visit with you. I think it is hilarious that Abby thinks your uncool. I wish I could watch her with you.

Lauren, are you coming with Corbinn to the soccer tournament? I hope so. I love company.

Anyone ever in Memphis, please call me.

19/08/08 06:12 PM #688

Scott Robnett

Beth, I will be in Memphis in two weeks. I will definitely give you a shout when I am in town. Maybe we could all go to dinner. I will stay in touch.

19/08/08 07:09 PM #689

Lauren Hartz (Clark)

Beth- I am still trying...it is so much easier and a lot less expensive for Jack and Corbinn to go. He told me if I wanted to take all three kids that I could go but he was not! ha ha He also said he was not staying home with the other two. ha ha He really enjoys this tournament since it is so close to fun things. A lot better than Jonesboro and somewhere in Louisiana! They really enjoy the dad/daughter time. Even Corbinn is excited about spending the time with her dad. If something changes, you will be the first to know!

HEY EVERYONE! I HAVE NOT BEEN ON HERE IN A LONG TIME-- I AM WAY BEHIND ON THE STORIES.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE KIDS HAVE STARTED BACK SCHOOL! THEY DO NOT HARDLY HAVE A SUMMER.

BETH-- I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO COME STAY WITH ME BEFORE THE KIDS WENT BACK TO SCHOOL-- MY KIDS REMEMBERED ME TELLING THEM THAT AND THEY MADELINE IS STILL ASKING WHEN YOU ARE COMING WITH JACK AND AVA. I HATE TO TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE SLACKING A LITTLE ON THE TRUTH-HA.

SCOTT-- I HATE TO TELL YOU, BUT MADELINE WANTS ME TO WALK HER IN EVERYDAY -I GUESS I AM STILL COOL!! JUST KIDDING.

TERESA--HEY GIRL-- HOPE YOUR HOUSE IS COMING ALONG GOOD-- I WILL BE IN STUTTGART THIS WEEKEND - I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT AND SEE YOUR HOUSE.

DAVID-- I AM GLAD YOU CAME HOME TO VISIT YOUR FAMILY-- I KNOW YOU WILL BE READY TO COME HOME FOR GOOD .

OH-- I FORGOT TO COMMENT ON THE PICTURES--THE DOORKNOCKER EARRINGS I WAS WEARING ARE TERRIBLE.-WHY WERE WE ALL MATCHING IN OUR RED, WHITE AND BLUE--THAT'S FOR YOU DAVID. I WAS CRACKING UP AT THE PICTURES. I HAVE A LOT OF HIGH SCHOOL PICTURES, BUT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO GET THEM SCANNED AND DOWNLOAD THEM.

SHEVONYA- I LOVED YOUR PICTURES-- I AM JEALOUS, I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO GO ON THAT TRIP.

I HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING GREAT AND BACK IN THE SCHOOL ROUTINE-- I WAS DEFINITELY NOT READY FOR SCHOOL TO START. IT IS TOO MUCH HOMEWORK FOR THESE KIDS. MADELINE HAD HOMEWORK EVERYNIGHT LAST YEAR IN FIRST GRADE. AS I RECALL, I DON'T EVER REMEMBER HAVING HOMEWORK UNTIL LIKE 5TH GRADE. THESE KIDS ARE DEFINITELY LEARNING ALOT MORE AT AN EARLY AGE.( NOT JUST SCHOOL WORK EITHER, TOO ADVANCED)!!

I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GOOD NIGHT- I MIGHT RETURN IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS-- I AM NOT A COMPUTER PERSON, AS YOU CAN SEE.

19/08/08 08:22 PM #691

Beth Carter (Dawson)

Hey Shelley
Are you trying to say I'm a liar? Girl...you know I always tell the truth! You tell sweet Madeline that I am going to come see her soon. What I was not counting on when I made that commitment was that we started football and it has been everynight for the past three weeks. Roddy goes to Colorado in two weeks and I plan on coming to Arkansas then. I am sorry Shell!! I still love you and miss you.

Scott
Didn't mean to make you feel bad, but I do love to get visitors in Memphis.

Has Little Rock gotten back to normal after the shooting last week? That was so scary!!

David Chastain

Hey guys, thanks for the words of encouragement. It sure is nice to hear from everybody. It was very good to be home for a few days. They really gave us a warm welcome when we landed in Dallas. It was really moving. Talking about school starting, my Son Anthony started 12th grade on Monday and my Step-Son Dalton started the 9th grade. I can't believe I have a Senior. Man I am getting old. We took the boys to buy school clothes and Dalton (6'3" @14) was standing in the dressing room talking to us over the door. Man that just ain't right. They grow up so fast. It makes me sad to thank they won't be home much longer.

20/08/08 05:11 AM #696

Teresa Stovall (Davis)

Good morning! I'm up and cooking breakfast for my kids.

David C~ I know what you are talking about when you say how tall your kids are. My oldest Samantha (6th) is almost as tall as I am. They grow up too fast.

I don't know who had Mr. Branson?? ( He was a great teacher and still is working with kids) He calls Samantha "big foot" cause Bruce ( my husband and her dad) was called "slu foot". He had two names for me in school. "Blondie" and he called me and Shelley Siems "zeplin sisters"

Did any teachers have nicknames for you or can ya'll remeber any "sayings that you remember them saying?

Mr. Brady ( the class Beth got thrown out of) haha.. He would always say "shut your flappin' jaws". haha..

20/08/08 08:34 AM #697

Beth Carter (Dawson)

I am cracking up! I had forgotten about "shut your flappin mouths". Obviously I didn't obey that rule....since he kicked me out.
I can't remember any knicknames for me...well, from a teacher anyway.
I can't wait to hear what everyone else was called in high school.

20/08/08 10:20 AM #698

Tricia Orlicek (Brown)

Good morning everyone. I have missed getting on here to talk. I have been busy trying to prepare to teach this year. I am teaching some different classes so it is like starting from ground zero.

Who has seen the Dark Knight? Me, Cathy, Dana Curtis, and Amy went to LR for Amy's birthday this past weekend and saw it. I have to say that I thought if the movie did not end I was going to have a heart attack or at least an anxiety attack. I was having chest pains it was so intense! But all of us girls agree on one thing; Christian Bale was HOT!!!! We are all in love with Batman now! How juvenile right! Anyway, great movie for the guys. I wanted to see Mama Mia! Everyone have a great day!

20/08/08 02:36 PM #699

Jil Bailey (Amaden)

hey ya'll, i have 8th period prep, so i put the website on my shortcuts so i could jump in really quick and see what is going on! Hope ya'lls kids are enjoying school! Gray is loving 4th grade, and Bailey is loving being over here at high school with me!

Scott- thanks for asking about my parents, they are doing well. THey are both 72, but they are still very active. Daddy rides the wave runner at the lake and stuff. THey dont' miss any of Spencer's games at PA (Ya'll watch for him, he is quarterback at PA, and he was #1 in passing in the state last year, he is on tv and gazette a lot. he is a senior this year.) mom and dad come here a lot to see my kids in their games, and singing, etc. also. We loooove the lake , we go a lot and spend time with them. i will tell them you asked about them.

20/08/08 04:14 PM #700

Scott Robnett

Jil,

I was wondering if Spencer was Rhonda's son! I will have to go down to see him, I would love to watch him play. I remember him when he was TINY.

Do you think your parents would mind if I just popped in to say hello one day? I am actually going to Hot Springs tomorrow for work.

Hannah, you are going to think I am crazy, but I got Abigail tickets on row 2.... She is about to pee her pants, and I am trying to get her backstage afterwards to meet everyone. She was GLUED to the TV during all of the competitions. She is a freak doing gymnastics...just turned 2 and is in Level 4, and really loves it.

My wife and I are curious what all of you think... How hard should we let her push herself with this gymnastics thing? When does it become too much? I swear we don't push her into anything, but we also don't let her just quit something either. ADVICE PEOPLE!?!?!?!

Tabitha- You probably ARE still cool...big difference!

20/08/08 05:56 PM #701

Beth Carter (Dawson)

Scott
Roddy and I were just having this conversation last week. How far to push your kids to "do their best" without pushing them to far and how young is too young to let them try something they love and how much time do you let them practice it ...which I feel like is exactly what you are wondering....

Well, obviously I don't have the answer, but I do have an opinion and some passed down advice.....If you see a passion or real talent in a child early that you should let them "chase" it. With anything though there is always a balance. Until Abbey is old enough to like persue the olympics or something, I would only let her take regular classes....like once a week or something and use extra stuff, like going to this thing in LR or watching older kids compete or whatever it is she wants to do in addition to her regular classes....use it as a reward. Make her have to earn it. I know I am sounding like a know it all....trust me, I have no idea what I am doing, but this was the advice that was given to us recently only concerning football. I am simply passing on some wisdom. Hope it helps.

I want to hear what other people think, especially ones with older kids.

20/08/08 08:21 PM #702

Tricia Orlicek (Brown)

Scott- With my kids I have always encouraged them but let them make the decision whether they want to play a sport or whatever it may be. Once they start they have to finish that year out, that has been my rule with anything unless it might be harming them in some way. I also am up front with them (especially Haley right now) that some things are very hard but if they want it bad enough it is up to them to make it happen. For instance, Haley wanted to join track this past spring. Well, Haley is not very athletic and I personally felt she wanted to join because all her friends were, so I had a long talk with her about how she still had homework and chores on top of staying after school for track and how track would probably be a challenge for her and how I wanted her to do it for herself and not for popularity. I also gave her the talk about how being on a team is great because you do learn great lessons in perseverance and comradarie and team work. She made the decision to join knowing that she would have to stick it out. I have to say that God love her she stuck it out even when ALL her friends quit! The first couple of days she was in tears when I picked her up. I just gave her a hug and told her how proud I was that she was hanging in there and that it would get better and sure enough it did! So I say if Abigail is that passionate about it and you see something in her then go for it but just make sure she remains grounded and doesn't lose "herself". All I can say is do alot of praying and let the Lord lead you and keep you all in check! Good luck!
