Stephen Saranie

Since 1989: Went to UCA and played football, graduated in 1994. Came back to Stuttgart and farmed a couple years. Coached at Lonoke High School in 1996. In 1997 I was hired to coach defensive line at Southern Arkansas University. Muleriders won the Gulf South Conference. I coached a couple All-American defensive lineman and linebackers. Steve Roberts (ASU coach) was my boss. Received Masters degree in 1998. Fall 1998 I was defensive coordinator @ Crossett High School. In 1999 Coach Burke hired me to be his O-line and D-line coach. Coaching with Burke and Fisher was GREAT! Ricebirds won State Champ in 2002 (14-0). Received Administration Degree from ASU and I was the the Assistant Principal at Park Avenue Elementary School in Stuttgart for 4 years- yep, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! Best job I ever had. Theresa Davis keeps me straight! Quit coaching and had to do something to be competitive so I won Arkansas State duck calling championship in 2007.. Kelsi (stepdaughter) won Jr. Womans World Championship the same weekend in 2007and also 2008 and 2009- I coached her up! I am now the Assistant Principal @ Stuttgart High School

Going down gravel roads shooting doves out of the sunroof in "The Boat""...Duck hunting in Bayou Meto with those dudes from White Hall...Camping...Daves' RX7...Waking Nacho up to go to church, "No,no,Saranie no get here 'till ten!".... When Jason pulled up to my parents house with a deer in the front seat of "The Boat". Somehow that deer had a cigarette hanging out of its mouth. What the heck happened to that car??????
