Mr. George Clarence “Chip” Lane, Jr., age 56, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Floyd Medical Center. Mr. Lane was born August 8, 1960, in Rome, GA, son of the late George Clarence Lane, Sr., and Betty Ruth Ball Lane. He was of the Baptist Faith and was co-owner of George’s Kwik Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Lane. Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, Angela Lane; daughters and son-in-law, Tia and Marty Rausch, Robin Lane; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lori and Mike Duncan, Myra Reynolds, Steve Jones, and Bobby Jones; sisters-in-law, Pam Jackson, Carolyn Gill, and Carol Cannon; mother-in-law, Maxine Jones; grandchildren, Maya Rausch and Emma Rausch; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Mr. Lane will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 4, 2017, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin J. Norton officiating.
Cary Elliott Meadows, age 57 of Leesburg, GA, passed away Monday, April 8th in a Albany, GA. hospital. Funeral services will be 12:PM Saturday, April 13th at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Hindman and Kenneth Parker officiating; burial will follow in Faith cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 at the church. Pallbearers include Calvin Sanford, Jack Parker, Jim Parker, James McKissick, Tim Weaver, T.R. Weaver. Survivors include his parents, Robert & Rebecca Meadows of Gaylesville; brother-in-law, Wes Cunningham of Montevallo; sisters, Rebecca Lynn Meadows of Anchorage, AK, Marie (Ken) Rowland of Rome, GA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gwen Cunningham. Mr. Meadows was a native of Summerville, GA., was a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, was a Civil War Reenactor and was a member of Little Sand Mountain Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital.
Granville Anthony “Tony” Gilley, age 58 of Menlo, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. Tony was born in Summerville, Georgia on June 10, 1961, son of Alice Sue Bailey Gilley and the late Billy Don Gilley. He was a member of the Chelsea Baptist Church and prior to retirement, was co-owner of T.I.C. Electrical in Lafayette. Tony was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed Fishing and Turkey and Deer Hunting. He loved wildlife and hated to see their habitation destroyed by timber cutting and logging. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Billy Don Gilley; wife, Freda Lynn Martenn Crabtree Gilley; grandparents, Zeke and Jessie Gilley and Howard and Bonnie Bailey; and and several aunts and uncles.Tony is survived by his daughter, Brandi Gilley; brother, Randy Gilley; mother, Sue Gilley; step-children, Dee and Christine Crabtree and Lynn and Mickey Rose; former wife and mother of his daughter, Brandi, Tina Brown Gilley Chapman; granddaughter, Alyson Christol; 3 Step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.Funeral Services for Tony will be held Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Martenn officiating. Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Blanks, Brian “Tuna Fish” Johnston, Dewayne “Dee” Crabtree, Ricky Sumner, Eric Reynolds, Ramar Joyner, Steve Clowdis and Matt Veatch. Honorary pallbearers will be cousins and close friends: Danny “Dad” Deering, Fulton Burnett, Steve England, Steve McGill, Marty Ray Green, Brian “Bubba” Echols, Terry Don Smith, Lamar Love, Bud Willis, Stacy Mitchell, Mark Goodson, Paul Hosmer, Joe Smith, Jabo Crider, Jackie Pritchett, Carlton Vines, Debbie Sumner, Tim Cooper, Sammy Goodrich, Mark Ballard and Kelly Harris. Tony will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Pam Burton Coulter of LaFayette passed away Friday, September 28, 2018. She was 58 years old. Survivors include her two sons, RJ (Kristin) Hughes and Brett (Lisa) Hughes; three sisters, Sherri Whitlock, Rebecca Johnson, and Paula Ulrich; and her grandson who was her pride and joy, Cameron Hughes. Pam was raised in Subligna and was a member of Subligna Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching her grandson play sports and loved her family and co-workers at Roper in LaFayette. The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 1-5pm at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home. Brother Charles Bishop will lead a service at 1pm with fellowship following the service.

Mr. Timothy Carl Pierce, age 57, of Menlo, GA, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mr. Pierce was born December 13, 1960, in Summerville, GA, son of Carl Anderson Pierce and Peggy Joyce Holloway Pierce. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Rome, GA, and was employed with Mohawk for a number of years. Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife, Julie Byars Pierce; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy J. “T. J.” and Rebecca Pierce; parents, Carl and Peggy Pierce; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Tonya Pierce; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Perry Walker, Carla and Chris Nixon, Ginger and Gage Driggers. Funeral services for Mr. Pierce will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 19, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Nixon and Dr. Dale Levan officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Mr. Pierce will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or to Gideons International (www.gideons.org).
