Do you remember where you were when President Kennedy was assassinated?

I was in Mrs Montgomery's room at Lincoln School in 5th grade when the announcement came over the PA he'd been shot. She left for a few minutes, then came back a short time later crying and said.... "Our president is dead."

School was let out for the rest of the day.

I was in Mrs. Garcia's room at Lincoln school in 5th grade.  She also started crying and told all of us to be quite. Then school was released and we all went home

I was in Mrs Jones class @ Lincoln. Same intercom. Mrs Jones never did like me. What's not to like? I think she knew I was a future conservative that rubbed her liberal butt wrong.

This was really a huge event that the younger ones can only image!

OK, in a conversation with someone else, I think I named Mrs. Montgomery wrong as the teacher. I might finally have it right now. Don't grade me on spelling their names, it's been a little while :-)
1st - Mrs. Estes - Washington - 59
2nd - Mrs. Ryan - Kamiakin - 60
3rd - Mrs. Montgomery - Kamiakin - 61
4th - Mrs. Warner - Kamiakin - 62
5th - Mrs. Ayeres - Lincoln - 63
6th - Mr. Middleton - Lincoln - 64
Too many different teachers from 7th on, but I remember most all of them.

I was in Mrs. Jones class.  I remember Mr. Snow making an announcement then the radio being played over the PA.  Our classroom faced the front of the building so watched  the flag being lowered.  To this day when I see a flag at half staff, I get a twinge of whats wrong, who died...

Steve, I was in Mrs Jones class also.  She was the first teacher that I felt didn't like me, regardless of how hard I tried.  I gave up trying after that so several teachers thereafter didn't particularly like me!
