The youngest member of the Class of 1962 — he entered Sunnyvale High School at age 12 — John passed away in the first week of July 2011 of a heart attack. A graduate of Stanford University, he taught English at the University of California Santa Barbara for twelve years, and afterward worked for UCSB's publications office. Many will remember John for his bright intellect, his witty way with words spoken and written, and his kind-hearted cynicism.
