Laurence Grover was a wonderful man, he had such a genuine spirit. He was a great story teller and a lover of history. After living in the bay area for many years he moved to Lodi, CA to be closer to family. He has three grown children and eight grandchildren. He worked for Cal-trans as a bridge maintenance supervisor for the Bay Bridge until his retirement in 2011. I was on the swimming team with Larry and always enjoyed his company.A few years after graduation we passed each other on the second floor at Eastridge Shopping Center in San Jose and did a double take; I had gained weight and he was losing his head, but we turned toward each other and spoke. On the video at time 32.56 you can see the same unbroken smile Larry aways had in and out of the pool.
