Steve passed away in San Francisco on January 7, 2008, according to Social Security records. His was a bright, analytical mind and a searching spirit. May he rest in peace.
Steve and I kept up our friendship on at least a yearly basis through 2004. He was probably my oldest sustained friendship. He was an odd duck, but a real friend and I miss him.
