It was really a shock to hear about Michelle. I was thinking of old times and was trying to Google her, but could not remember exactly how to spell her last name. About 20 minutes later I was searching for someone else and stumbled upon this site.
It was odd to think that someone our age had passed away. I remember her as someone who smiled very easily. All it took was one goofy joke.
I dated Michelle just after high school. She had started at Eastern Michigan University looking to get a degree in education. I would travel up to Ann Arbor every weekend to hang out with her and her friends. We would sit in the dorm and order pizza and discuss her infatuation with Jean-Claude Van Damme. We would go see movies and spend a lot of time together.
I cannot remember the exact reason we stopped seeing each other. Probably just teenage craziness. But when I look back at the time I spent with Michelle, there is not one negative thing I can say. She was smart, beautiful, and funny and had a great amount of compassion and consideration.
I regret not really getting to know her during the school years, but I am very happy to say I did get to know her.

Michelle was a classmate at Maplewood and my sister-in-law is actually very close friends with Michelle's older sister Cindy. Cindy and the Keshari family will be composing an update/memorial tribute for the reunion. Cindy passed the following obituary and guest book links to me. It is my understanding that Michelle died following complications during the birth of her second child (the child survived).
The news of Michelle’s untimely death has deeply saddened me. Several times over the past few years I have tried unsuccessfully to look her up online.
I dated Michelle in high school and for a while at Eastern Michigan University as freshman.
For everyone that had a chance to know Michelle, they would have realized what a wonderful, compensate, fun and vibrate person she was. She had a passion for theatre and loved to perform on stage. I remember being so amazed at how she could fearlessly attack her role in Phantom of the Opera.
As an awkward teenager Michelle showed me how to have fun. From going to the movies to long humorous talks about nothing in particular, she made me smile. At prom, there was definitely no doubt who the better dancer was as she put me to shame on the dance floor.
Michelle had a passion for children and was focused like a laser on her goal of being a teacher. I was not surprised to see that she followed through with her work and continued to grow in her career with a Master’s Degree. I am also sure she was an absolutely wonderful wife and mother.
Although we grew apart in college, Michelle inspired me. She inspired me to be compassionate, to have no fear and to have fun. This news is tremendously upsetting. It has been nearly 20 years since those days in high school but her memory with never leave me. God Bless.
