Richard Durham

I have not done a lot since 1989. It took me a couple of years before I even knew what I wanted to do with my life. I finally decided to go to college where I managed to change majors a few times. I ended up an education major and I have been teaching in elementary school since I graduated from college. Right now I am teaching 5th Grade. I also joined the National Guard just before going to college. I became a Medic. I was deployed to Iraq in 2004 for a year. That was an interesting experience. I am now married and have four kids.

I am not really sure what to write here. I enjoyed high school for the most part. I know that I did not stand out but I did know a lot of people. I know that my freshman year I was a bit on the shy side and came a little out of the shell in the sophomore year. Taking a drama class really let me out and for some reason I really enjoyed the whole drama thing. I started to be in a lot of the plays. It was a lot of fun. I should have done it a lot sooner since I started getting invited to parties and I enjoyed those very much also.

What is a funny memory that I have? Well, it was pretty funny thinking that I had athletic ability and I really did not. That was very apparent when I would try out for football and basketball. I always was cut on the first day. At least I tried.

I thought that high school was great. I talked to people and they talked to me. I do not regret anything. It is great to see so many of us doing well.
