I joined the Army back in Mar. of 2001 from there I went back to my hometown of Killeen location of the largest Army installation in the world Ft. Hood, TX. I spent 1yr there and went to Cuba to do perimeter security at Camp X-Ray. I returned to Ft. Hood in Dec. of 2002. I then departed to the Demilitarized Zone of S. Korea which is none as the Joint Security Area, I left Korea in Feb. 2004 to return to Ft. Hood and deploy to Baghdad, Iraq in March of 2004, I then returned back to Ft. Hood in May of 2005. I was selected to be an Army Instructor at the Non-Commissioned Officer's Academy where I trained young NCO's how to conduct NCO business, land navigation, counselings, and numerous other leadership skills. I taught 13 cycles being cadre of the cycle three times. I came down on assignment to Giessen, Germany in Nov. 2005, upon my arrival to B.Co. 16th Eng BN I participated in a 10 day combat training exercise and then in Feb. 2006 I was deployed to Tal Afar, Iraq along the Syrian border where we conducted security patrols and check points along the border. We spent a few months there and were called to replace some units in Ramadi also knows as death alley. We conducted patrols, raids, route clearance, and demolitions to the surrounding areas. We left Iraq in May of 2007. I spent a few months in Germany traveling all over Europe and was re-assigned to 87th Sapper Company at Ft. Hood, TX was again back to the stomping grounds. 3 months after arrival we were alerted that we would be deploying once again to Iraq in Mar. I was selected by the Department of the Army to represent the finest and strongest Organization in the World as an Army Recruiter. I have been recruiting for almost a yr now and I gotta say this job is more stressful then roaming the streets of Iraq while getting shot at. But like I always say someone has to do it right. After I leave recruiting I am joining the ranks of the elite Army Rangers so that means more deployements to come which I am excited and looking forward for it to come. SLTW ALL THE WAY for the civilians it means SAPPERS LEAD THE WAY!
