Where do you live now?: Shoreline, WA
Where do you work? Renton
Yes! Attending Reunion
Where else have you lived since high school & now?

Los Angeles & San Jose CA, Phoenix AZ

Did you actually graduate with the WHS class of 1989, or were you part of our class & left before graduating?:

I didn't walk with the class, was just doin time in '89 (I think that was our Motto). Skipped the 11th grade and was 1 credit short to walk, got it that summer and went off to college.

What’s your situation on the homefront? (e.g., Married, domestic partnered, divorced, widowed, shacked up, single, wild and crazy, let’s not go there, etc.)

Single

Where have you traveled? What are your favorite trip memories? Upcoming destinations?

Traveled to London in college and got engaged (that will teach me to go on a vacation.) No where outside of the continental US since then.

What careers have you had since high school? Worst job? Best job?

Civil then Structural Engineer, superintendent for a construction company, Sr. construction manager for a national architectural firm, and now project manager and lead designer for a design build general contractor.

College? Grad School? Where did you go and what degrees did you earn?

Pacific Lutheran University, was going to double major in Micro Biology and O-Chem, but dropped out for financial reasons. (I kind of forgot to submit some grant applications on time…ahh youth)

What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?

Writing, I am part way through a book that I hope to have published in the next few years.

Sending inappropriate emails to the former Vice President (well up until I was permanently blocked from sending any emails to the White House. I am still waiting for that knock on my door…)

Was an avid DH Mountain biker up until a bad accident 2 years ago, haven’t been on a bike since, baring one more surgery should be getting back to riding later this year (then loosing the 30 pounds I gained while recouperating...hey its an excuse, whats yours?)

What are your favorite memories about WHS?

Wow that’s a tough one...they are few and far between. Since I skipped a grade I felt a bit like an outcast from the people I grew up with and the ones I was suddenly in the same class with. Senior year was tough for that, but my fondest memories were in band and going to all the football games.

Did you have a secret crush in high school?

Oh yea...the Chearleading Squad, the Dance Squad, and every other girl in the class of 89 and 90...ahhh youth...now if only I could have talked to ANY of them...

What is the biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at WHS?

I wouldn't have skipped a grade thats for sure, I was in too big of a rush to get off to college.

What would you like to tell your high school self now that you’re older and wiser?

Probably the same tripe everyone wishes they could tell a younger version of themselves…
1. Confidence, believe in yourself and don’t sell yourself short, you will make it…you did make it.

2. Girls...dont be afraid of them, they don't bite...(well some do:)

Are you still surprised you got away with something back then?

I was a quiet bookworm in school, but I did get one of my best friend into some horrible trouble (and a trip to the hospital)...I still owe you a lifetime supply of beer for that one Eric (I'll even make it German Beer since I am pretty sure you are accustom to it now, living over there.)

What do you think we had in common with today’s teenagers? What was different, better and worse?

"Kids these days!"...if only my grandfather could here me say that now, I bet he is laughing his ^$$ off right now.

What is a political or world event that stands out in your mind from the 80s? How did it affect your view of the world?

January 28, 1986 The Shuttle Disaster, but more of a memory was November 1989 when the Berlin Wall came down and the impact on our German Exchange Students.

Do you think you're more conservative or liberal than you were in high school? Are you surprised?

Much more conservative now...I barely understood politics until my late 20's, and still don't, now that its my late 30's

What would we be surprised to learn about you?

Took my SAT's in the 7th grade and scored higher than my senior year.
Was accepted to Johns Hopkins University at 15, but my mother wouldn't let me travel across the country (and thank god for that, going to PLU ended up being enough of a culture shock at my age).
Those that knew me, most likely would be suprised that I dropped out of college and never got my degree in chemistry, and all that education and intelligence landed me in a contruction job (that I love)

What do you hope to accomplish in the next 10 years

I am helping a friend start up a new sports bar in Kent, and I have plans to open one on my own in the next year depending on the economy. Publish the book I have been writing.
