In Memory

Cynthia Bridges (Simpson)

Cynthia Simpson Bridges, 47 of Tampa, passed July 11, 2007, after a prolonged critical illness and complications from surgery.  The youngest of three daughters born to H. T. Bridges, deceased, and Hilda F. Bridges of Tampa, Cyndee graduated from Chamberlain H.S., class of ’78 and was a homemaker.  She treasured her family above all, and especially, her two daughters, Mrs. Krista Aponte, and Miss Erica Richardson both of Tampa.  All who knew and loved her miss her quick wit, hearty laugh, ready smile, and willingness to lend a hand.  In addition to her mother and daughters, she is survived by her sister Cailin and Stuart Grant of Washington and sister Chris and Brian Roys of Tampa, two grandsons, Andre Figueroa and Gabriel Aponte, and many friends who loved her.  Memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Tampa on Saturday July 21 at 11:00 A.M.  Sweet daughter, sister, mother, we miss you so much!

My sister, Cyndee Bridges, resided until her death with my mom, so mom received the emails you sent regarding the class of '78 reunion.  Mom told me that she has informed you of Cyndee's passing, and has asked me with help sending the photo you requested.  I have attached two photos, one of them - a close shot of her face - is probably what you are looking for, but I could not resist sending the other as well.  It is Cyndee with one of her daughters, Erica, on the occasion of a surprise birthday we threw for mom.  It was a happy day, and Cyndee looked great!

Additionally, you may be interested to know that we named a star for Cyndee.  It's in the constellation of Gemini - which was her birth sign.  In remembrance of how fun-loving my dear sister is, we chose to name the star with her childhood nickname of Cyndee Bug!  Now she is always looking over all those who loved and cherished her, just as she did in her life, and we all have her with us.  Someday, people may live on planets orbiting Cyndee Bug!  She would like that.  I've also attached a chart of the location of Cyndee's star.

I'm sure all this is more than you need, but I have also cut and pasted her obituary below.

We are still all deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our sweet sister at such a young age.

Thanks for helping us commemorate our sister and informing her classmates of her loss.

Have a great reunion!

Warm Regards,

Chris Bridges Roys
