I ran into Ronnie Batten a quite a few years ago and he told me that David had died in a car accident. Not sure what year, but I think 1992.

David and I were classmates in Mrs. Brown's 4th grade classroom at Lake Magdalene Elementary School. He was a VERY nice guy and stayed that way.

David Edward Dobbins:

David graduated from Hillsborough Community College (HCC) and then attended the University of South Florida (USF) through his Senior year. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity. He was co-owner of a business located in Savannah and Augusta, Georgia. In 1992, David was killed in an automobile accident in Augusta.

David & I grew up together in the same subdivision near Lake Ellen. I can remember the gool ole' days, when we had orange fights in the Grove, with Mark Snow, Mike Thompson, Mike McCord, Mark Swartzenbach and others. Fishing till dark at the Canal. Playing teeter-totter on the roof truss bundles staged at the new construction sites in the grove. Flirting with the girls from the Grove!!!

Generally, getting into trouble with my best boyhood Friend!!! :-) It's true, "Boys will be Boys"

Some of my neatest & best childhood memories were with David and his loving family. David's Dad took us to their country place in Inverness to learn how to hunt & fish. We were on the path to manhood...David was a crack shot with a shot gun. He was a woodsman. His Dad taught him well.

Ahhh, I still remember the fonde smell of of 2-cycle gasoline in the bass boat. The feel of earthworms and fish scales upon our hands. David's Dad pull starting that old Evinrude outboard! I can still visualize the smiles on all our faces!!! Like Joe Follman remembers, David from the halls of Lake Magdalene, so do I.

David was a kind person, he was very smart and had a wicked sense of humor. David made friends easily and left a lasting positive impression in the lives he touched... David you are sincerely missed, but not forgotten...
Your Friend...Greg...
