School Story:
Funniest memory hmm..Auto Mechanic's class 1981. Me and 12 other guys pushing a beautiful customized hot rod 71' Chevelle off the hydraulic lift and out of the garage and down the sloped driveway, except there wasn't anyone in the car to steer or stop it. A guy who we called Grouper tried to be a hero but his effort was in vain as he just tripped and rolled off onto the pavement...We realized our situation was bad, but at the very least the chain-linked fence would stop this runaway beauty at the cost of a few minor scratches on it's shiny chrome bumper...Except the supports of the fence busted due to the weight of the car! So this waxed beauty kept on rolling right underneath the fence between two support poles with barely an inch to spare on both sides of the car. The twisted ends at the bottom of the fence marked 12 new even pinstipes. Starting from the hood to the roof and finishing up the trunk as the rest of us wanna be grease monkeys just stood there with our mouths wide open in disbelief! As the car finally came to a stop in the middle of Mango street...We didn't know what to do so everyone just panicked and ran inside. Mr.Scott knew seeing this frightened herd stampede back to the garage was never a good sign and he was once again right...30 yrs. later I can say I have never seen anything so funny as I witnessed that spring afternoon...Oh and by the way, it was a student's car who paid 1 dollar for us to work on his car...I wonder if he got his money back??
