Since graduation, my life has revolved around teaching and coaching. Which I am sure comes as no suprise to anyone. In 2004 I lost my father to cancer, which was devastating for us all. I graduated from UNC-Pembroke with a BS and Masters in Physical Education.....Coached at Tar Heel High School from 1996-2001 winning school's first conference championship and advancing to the Sectional Finals.
After Tar Heel and Bladenboro consolidated, I moved to East Bladen High School and have been coaching and teaching for 8 years. Being blessed with some great players, my teams have played in 2 state championship games 2 out of the last 3 years, winning 2 Eastern Regional Championships, advancing to the Sectional Finals 7 straight years, and winning 5 conference championships. Our 2007 team still holds the NCHSAA record for the most rebounds in one game (64).
Also, coached softball for 9 years winning 2 conference championships and playing in the Sectional Finals 2 years. In 2007 received the NCHSAA's Toby Webb Female Coach of the Year Award for North Carolina.
I have taught Physical Education and Weightlifting for 9 years, as well as sponsoring the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club, Relay For Life Team, and DREAM Team (Student-Athletes). I have also taught at Bladen Community College for the past 5 years, teaching PED on-line classes (yes, that is PE on-line), as well as working at the Front Porch Restaurant part-time.
In my spare time, when I have it, I watch every Steelers game and enjoy trips to the beach. I also enjoy officiating volleyball for the NCHSAA (North Carolina High School Athletic Association).
