Yes she did such a great job! Now we just need ideas for our reunion! Me and anna are trying to plan it we just need to figure out where to get started. Ideas are greatly needed!

we also need to firgure out how we are paying, if everyone that is coming pays a little or sell tickets or what. we need a location. i have been trying to research it but i am still coming up with nothing.

Well I have thought about the Eustis Community Center or the American Legion. Hickory point would be nice also. But if anyone wants to we can see if we can reserve a large enough room at a restaurant. Maybe Vic embers or Olive Garden. If we do it at a restaurant then people can drink if they want to. Also if we do it at a restaurant then we can get a per person price or maybe they will be able to allow us to pay individually. What do yall think?

so i have been doing some more reading and i think if we charged for tickets to the reunion we could pay for it, what does everyone think??

Our class should have had money left over. If so we could use that and it may help. Try calling the school and see about that. Then call Lake receptions and find out about them. The Eustis center can be done up nice and check on the drinking rules. The class of '97 had theirs at Lake receptions and it was nice,so did '95. If not, then try Mission Inn or Mount Dora country club. OG does not have a room big enough. If you can get some people together then have a meeting somewhere over dinner and get things moving. Dont forget the homecoming game and we should meet up at a local hang out like Okeefes before hand and The Frosty Mug after for drinks.

Lake Receptions is a really good idea, I also like the idea of selling tickets. If you did it at Lake Receptions you would also have to find a caterer. Anyone know what Mission Inn would charge for the whole deal? Looking forward to seeing old friends and catching up!

Hi everyone!!

By tradition, the reunion is the responsibility of the Senior Class President, in our case Citabria. I don't know of any way to contact her personally and as far as I know she is out of the state. I can try to reach her via her parents who are still local. Then at least no one double plans or steps on toes.

thats cool, thanks.

Lake Receptions caters its own events. And selling tickets is a good idea.

I agree with April's idea too. I was reading a forum about planning reunions, and how often there ends up being two different reunions for the same class. With our class being so small it needs to be a coordinated effort.

i really do agree that is why i made this website so we could all talk and get everything ready.

Hey there!! Just wanted to let you all know that I went through my myspace and sent messages to those people who haven't added their info yet to this website. Hopefully we can get something going soon...I heard that the class of 98 is having a little trouble. So anyways...I hope we are able to get something going soon...

April Von Maxey...Have you been able to get in touch with Citabria? I agree we should not step on anyone's toes...but if she is not available and doesn't mind hopefully someone else can step up.

Has anyone checked on what Jennifer said....the money left over from our class at the school? I've never heard of that but I wouldn't mind checking it out.

I hope everyone is doing good...Keep in touch!

Hi everyone! Wow, has it been 10 years already?? First of all, thank you very much to Anna and Jessica and everyone else who worked on getting this site together--what a great idea! (I like this much better than classmates.com) You guys are on top of things! Very cool!

Secondly, I agree it is time to start the planning! As April said, I am out of the state, so I appreciate other people stepping up to help. If you guys have already formed a reunion committee, then I am happy to help however I can.

I haven't been back to FL in a while, but it sounds like Lake Receptions is nice and would be convenient. They have catering packages already set up. Mission Inn also sounds nice, but could be a bit more expensive. It just depends on what we think the majority of people would like. Does anyone else know of other possible locations? I suggest we come up with a few options and then check with those places about pricing/availability/etc and go from there. Also, it will be important to know about deposits... how much and how soon will they need it?

Do we have an approximate date? I think many classes try to center the reunion around a big football game or some other school event, so that might be something to think about.

Does anyone have any community connections? Maybe someone knows a good DJ/band or caterer already? People who have planned weddings or other events in the area may be good resources.

I think ticket selling is a must for these things.
As far as I'm aware, the leftover money from the senior class is "gifted" to the class below, so I do not think there will be any start up cash for us... (perhaps the class treasurer knows for sure, but I think that's right)

Once we decide on a venue and come up with a menu/entertainment/etc, we can iron out a final ticket price and start selling.

The other really important thing is finding a way to get in touch with everyone. I'll post this address on classmates.com and refer anyone who contacts me to this site. Would someone be willing to be in charge of gathering addresses and eventually sending out invitations? It might be good to call the school and tell them to refer anyone who calls to this site, too.

So I guess that would be a start... We will need lots of volunteers! I'm just trying to get the ball rolling and I, too, want to avoid stepping on toes, so everyone please post any and all ideas/suggestions!

Hope everyone is doing well!

~Citabria

P.S. The best way to reach me is by email at Citabria_m@hotmail.com

I do know a DJ...We should just decide a day and I will start some communication with him about prices and whatnot.

Okay, Do we want to have it on a Friday or Saturday night? I was thinking Saturday night for the main reunion since that would give people from out of town time to travel. We could arrange something informally for Friday night where people could attend a football game (We can have the school arrange for special seating)and then meet somewhere local for drinks afterwards. Someone mentioned O'Keefes-- I've never been there but I think it's close. Just be thinking about a good place that would be large enough (probably only a small fraction of the attendees will do the Friday night thing) if we want to do that...just a thought.

Also if we do it on a Saturday, many places may already be booked for weddings. We may have to just call around and see which dates are still available.

So... My first question for everyone is: Do we want to have the reunion during football season so we could incorporate attending a game to the festivities? If so, then we need to see what is available in Sept/Oct/Nov/ (I think that's footbal season...?) An added benefit to doing it then is that maybe it won't be so hot. Also, I'm not sure how far in advance the school plans the football schedule, but we would have to try to plan it around a home game. Maybe they would even try to schedule a home game for our weekend if we gave them the date soon.

Second, Does anyone else have a suggestion for locations? So far we have Lake receptions, Mt. Dora CC, and Mission Inn. I think there's also Silver Lake CC and Harbor Hills CC.

Is there a way to send out an email to everyone who registered for the reunion to invite them to take part in this forum? Maybe we can get more traffic if we send a mass email.

Okay, don't know if any of the above helps or just confuses things more, but hopefully it's a start:-) Have a good weekend!
