For those of you old enough to remember the Woodstock Festival, I'm offering my annual tribute (keeping the spirit alive -- or something like that). Although Blind Faith was touring and thereby did not perform at Woodstock, they released their only album at about the same time. This is also a tribute to Steve Winwood and that short-lived group.
In a couple of weeks, we (someone?) will commemorate the 54th anniversary of the 1969 iconic music festival at Woodstock (actually Bethel, NY)). This is my very humble tribute to the festival, Joni Mitchell and CSNY. Hope you enjoy it (even though you can no longer remember it).
PS. Listen on headphones or earbuds/pods.
I only knew Larry Robbins casually. However, I was intrigued by the comments that some of you left about him. I therefore located a copy of his book and have begun reading it. If any of you would like to read it, I'd be happy to send it to you once I've finished. You could thereafter pass it on to anyone else who is interested.
Thank you Virginia for your kind words. Yes, he was an R&B artist and his original "Fever" had that R&B flavor. Hers was more of a "Pop" song -- as were the lyrics, which she changed. Of course, mine doesn't sound like either one --- for better or worse.

The reasons that I'm posting this video are two-fold. First, I thought that you (anyone who might actually watch it) probably is in need of another diversion given the stresses and stressors that beset us on a daily basis. Second and more important is that I couldn't find any other site that had people old enough to remember this song -- especially by Little Willie John. That's assuming that you remember the 50s. BTW, YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS THROUGH YOUR PHONES. The reason is that the mix is not very good and your computer speakers will amplify the bass to the point where you will have great difficulty hearing the vocal.

I thought that at this time, a distraction from our domestic and international turmoil might be a welcome diversion. What better distraction than a music video from David Pearl -- especially as a commemoration of what would have been the 90th birthday of "the man in black". Yes, I'm sure that you could all come up with a better diversion, but it's the best I have to offer.

Hoping for and wishing you all a happy new year. I thought it would be appropriate (or not) to post this musical message and warning —- created 73 years ago —- that our democracy was in grave danger. It appears that Pete Seeger’s warning and call to action is still relevant.

That was special. Thank you.

Thought it might be time again for a little pandemic entertainment— or at least some reasonable facsimile thereof. Additionally, I don’t know that many people old enough to remember Phil Ochs. I thought — where can I find a collection of oldies that might recognize him — and then I remembered. Hope this finds you all safe and well.

I thought that on this Memorial Day in the midst of a national crisis that has divided rather than united the country, it might be appropriate to record Woody Guthrie's iconic "This Land is Your Land". I understand that after hearing my arrangement he has been rolling around in his grave, but it's OK, he''l recover.

My second video tribute -- to the 50 anniversary of Woodstock and Tim Hardin finally posted. Technology is about to drive me to drink. Oh wait, too late for that. Anyway, for anyone interested, you will not have to copy and paste the link -- just click.
Hi Folks: TODAY marks the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock festival. I tried to post another musical tribute. However, for some reason this site is not accepting the link. So, I'm posting the link below (just copy and paste) for any who wish to see and hear a tribute to Woodstock and homage paid to Tim Hardin --- sadly, a wonderfully creative singer-songwriter who has faded into history. Strangely, this video will not post. So, here's a link to the YouTube tribute -- for anyone interested in listening. I would encourage all of you to listen, "...if you know what's good for you." My mother always said that and it seemed to get results, although to this day I have no idea what it actually means.
