Who: Bedford Class of '89 people and their +1
What: It’s a mixer! Stop in for a little bit or the whole evening.
Where: Maumee, Ohio, Elks Club ballroom 139 W. Wayne St. (1 block behind the Village Idiot). (enter through the ballroom entrance.)
When: Saturday, Oct 25th, 5 pm-9 pm - or later if needed.
Why: Because setting up & planning a reunion is a pain, so this is the easy & direct way.
How: The venue is secured and hosted by the Elks and Chef Shawn’s Kitchen (the Elk’s on-site food provider). There will be a cash bar and a cash kitchen. Chef Shawn will provide limited appetizers for grazing. A menu for purchasing food is also available. Cash bar.
Attire: Casual as you want to, whatever you desire. Just make sure you have the basics.. Shoes, Shirt, Pants.
Here’s the deal…. We tried to launch a reunion a few times, and it fizzled. A couple of us met up over beers and decided to put something together and make it work. Simple, no BS. Let’s do it. No cost to you, unless you want to buy any food/drink.
No DJ, but we will pipe in a radio station or an Amazon playlist. Maybe a game on the TV. Come and go as you please. Perhaps it will last until 9 pm, maybe not. We are all getting old, and 9 pm can be a struggle for most to stay awake.
Plan on coming out. Have a drink, eat some food, exchange phone numbers or business cards, chat, and reconnect with classmates we've spent up to 25% of our lives with. Bring out a deck of cards for euchre, if you'd like, while sporting a mullet and wearing your favorite parachute pants.
We’re not getting any younger. And the ballroom is on the main level, so no stairs! If this event turns out well, we can continue this every so often.
See you soon.
