Seeing Richard's picture added to the In Memory page made me sigh in deep disappointment.  Richard was one of the nicest guys in our high school.  I remember biology lab with him in Miss Powell's class.  He was shy but friendly to me.  Really sorry that you're gone Richard.  Until we meet again.

I wasn't real close with Rich, but I do remember getting together with him and Rusty one time to go up to Rusty's cabin. He was such a nice guy and someone I was hoping would come to the reunion. RIP Rich--a kind hearted man.

Richie and I were childhood friends going way back. His father had been in Law Enforcement and from a very young age, Richie said he was going to become a Police Officer. Although we seemed to grow in different directions, there were random times when our lives intersected. One of those times was when I received a call that Richie had taken a bullet in the line of duty. He survived the gunshot wound and the last time we crossed paths was at an LA Equestrian Center event where I met his wife. Richie looked absolutely incredible! He had gotten extremely fit to the extent that I remember thinking…he looks like he’s ready to put a helmet on. Though that wasn’t it, there was something radiant about him. His shyness had given way to an outgoing personality that matched his physical appearance. My sister has kept in touch with Richie’s sister over the years and I found out recently that he had been retired from Law Enforcement and was involved in an automobile accident.
