Dang Dennis, what happened? Last I saw you you were living in Palm Springs. So sad to hear you passed. Missing you!

I was so in love with you! I would go to my locker and hope to run into you into you in the hallway during each period.  I had "Dennis" written throughout my Algebra book. Hope everything is good up thereheart

I was lucky enough to call Dennis O'Toole a 'friend' for many years--if only because the ladies flocked around him! But, he was also my first friend to get a car! Dennis birthday is December 1, so he got his license early--months ahead of the rest of us. I distinctly remember drives up to the Free Press on Colorado in Dennis' 1955 dark green Chevy--hearing 'Instant Karma' for the first time on one of thoise drives. The same car that Dennis, Mark Morimoto and I went to the Glendora drive-in to see 'Easy Rider' in. Mark & Dennis could pass, I guess,  for 18--i looked about 13--so, I hid in the trunk. It still makes me laugh. Dennis was a kind, sensitive man--i don't remember a mean bone in him. It's still something I consider an amazing gift in my life-- to play on a championship high shool football team with my friends--it's so All American it makes my teeth hurt!--Dennis is an integral part of one of my finest memories. A funny memory with Dennis--I started one game on Varsity--at linebacker against Duarte. In the defensive huddle I stood between our two defensive tackles--just about the biggest guys on our team--to one side was Ron Lakey--to the other Dennis O'Toole. I was lost between the two of them. I remember Andy Roundtree, standing at the front of the huddle, chuckling about it.

I last spoke to Dennis on his birthday just a few days before his sister called to share the sad news of his passing a few years ago.It was really great talking with him--he sounded so happy that I called. We talked for a bit and made plans to get together. That's on hold for a while longer.

A great guy. A good man. A true friend. Dennis O'Toole. I think of him often and wish he was still around, if only so we could talk politics and commiserate!

Dennis was a great guy and always seemed happy.  Light years ahead of many of us in maturity.  I recall helping him put a new engine in his 55' Chevy.  Fun guy to play against in football.  He was a big guy on a team full of runts!

Dennis was a very reserved person, very intelegent, a loyal friend, a tenacious athlete and slightly mischevious when his Irish blood would kick in! (Ohhh those St. Patrick's Day parties in Seal Beach!) The green '55 Chevy was handed down to Dennis by his four older brothers when most of us were not even close to getting a drivers license. That car unlocked the world for alot of us who had great road trips & memorable experiences in it.

Dennis, Craig & I went to every practice & game together for four years. Fershman year we rode our bikes down Oak Avenue, but by our sophmore year the '55 Chevy had been bestowed upon Dennis. On Saturday mornings, after our Friday night football games, Dennis, Craig & I would drive in the Chevy to Flick's Liquor Store on Huntington Drive to pick up a newspaper. Craig would sit in the back seat and read the article about our game (mostly the Craig & Andy highlights) on our way to the High School for morning workout. Dennis is a member of the 44-0 Club and was an integral part of two CIF Championships. His love for the Rolling Stones would be the only music in the locker room that could breat up Mark Morimoto's domination of the 'Record Player' with his 'Who's Next' Album.

Our experiences continued after high school. Dennis & I were roommates in Santa Barbara where he went to UCSB. He never made his bed, never cleaned his room, never did the dishes, and he rebuilt a VW engine on our dining room table.........but he always maintained an incredable vegitable garden in the vacant lot next door! A more loyal, fun loving friend you could not find. He never took life all that searously, but lived more by the moment. You always knew Dennis had your back.
