Jimmy was a very quite and shy guy from East Texas. They moved in right across the street from me in Junior High - his Dad had gotten a job at Carbide. Our parents always went to Farmer's Market together and we spent alot of time in his driveway shelling peas and picking okra from their garden. Guess I was rather mean to him - in my tomboy days - he'd make me mad and I would slap him and then run. I was always too fast for him to catch and the boys in the neighborhood would make fun of him because of it. I went to his funeral and couldn't believe how much he had aged. Jimmy actually should have graduated in class of '66 or '67, can't remember. I still run into his only sister, who's retired from the TC paper.
