Graduated from Univ. of TX at Austin in '88 with degree in elem. ed (early childhood ed.), married Rick 5 days later and moved to Longview, TX while Rick was a reporter for a TV station for close to 3 years.
Moved back to Houston area in 1990 and began teaching in the Klein district. I've taught 4th and 1st but my favorite is Kindergarten, which I taught for 8 years. The last school I was at I taught with Melissa Daly and Susan Blair Collier. Melissa and I even taught on the same team and I had her son in my class!
I stopped teaching in May 2007 to care for my parents and be a full time mom. Now, I drive a lot!, am a youth sponsor at our church (Klein UMC), sing in our church choir, volunteer with NAMI and teach 2 of NAMI's classes. I love writing and have started a blog to test possible waters of writing a book.
The only high school friend I keep up with on a regular basis is Cliff Massey. He met my college roomate at my wedding and they got married 2 years later. We all just got together for dinner with Tim Schroeder and his wife to celebrate Cliff's birthday. How on earth did we all of a sudden get into our middle 40's!
