Erika Helt Becerra

I attended SHSU in 1984 then I moved up to the DFW area in 1986 to finish up my degree. I am still very close friends with TJay Reeves and Kelly Rister-Smith. TJay Reeves lives in Amarillo and works on his family's ranch and was recently married. :)

I was married on August 31st, 2013 to the love of my life in Austin, TX, at St. Edwards Park, next to a waterfall. We dated back in 1983/84 right after HS when we both worked (and met) at Greenspoint Mall. We reconnected via Facebook and thanks to a very good mutual friend and now we are married and incredibly HAPPY! Glory to God! :0)

I hung out at the "Road", the "Hill", "James Canion's Road". "the Sewer Plant" (not such a good memory for me) and anywhere else we could go without getting busted! lol My closest friends all through Jr. High & HS were Michelle Sheldrick (Torp) and TJay Reeves. I was also close with Laurie Whipperman (RIP), Stephanie McGuire (class of '84) and Jan Eastland. I remember drinking a lot of Boone's Farm Tickle Pink, Blueberry Hill & Lone Star beer - don't laugh, you KNOW you drank one or more of them too! Many bonfires, going mudding and getting stuck, midnight rodeos, two-stepping, Tin Hall (the drinking age was 18 back then, gotta love that!) Tom Foolery's, The Feed Store, cruising Sonic/McDonald's parking lot, Oak Ridge Bowling Center, movies and MANY "parents are out of town house parties"...need I say more? LOL
