August 8, 2008 - Riverdale Golf Course

The weekends festivities kicked off by a few with a round of morning golf at Riverdale Golf Course.  Who could forget the legendary Riverdale Road horror stories.  You could tell we all have to work for a living cause none of us could play golf worth a shit.  However, in true Highland style we wore out the beer cart all before the noon hour.  After golf we adjourned to Roma's for a good old school style calzone.  TC even had buy one get one free coupons like old times.

August 8, 2008 - Via Italian Eatery

The reunion began with a social mixer in Downtown Denver where we had the backroom to ourselves however it didn't take us long to take over much of the bar area as well.  Highlights included Donna Maes passed out before 10 pm and Craig Meis getting hit in the mommy-daddy button by Jeff Plendl as he was "Welcoming" everyone to the event.  After we shut down Via, the party moved to Lodo's Bar and Grill where dancing and drinking continued until we shut it down as well.

August 9, 2008 - Thornton Rec Center Picnic

A small gathering of classmates and their families arrived to grill burgers, throw the football and just hang out for a few hours.  Those that arrived at the picnic and had experienced the night before used the opportunity to recover before the Saturday night festivities started.  Looking at old photos was the highlight as we tried to figure out who certain people were in pictures after at least 20 years of not seeing their faces or hearing there name.

 

 

August 9, 2008 - Magnolia Hotel, Downtown Denver

"The Main Event"

The evening started at 6:00 pm with appetizers in a very nice setting of the Hotel...that would all change before the night was over!!  Once the dinner was done and the Beer Bong and tequilla shots came out things went South from there "Old School Style".  Looking forward to these photos!!!  Highlights included Eric Miller dancing on the chairs and tables taking his clothes off, Davina Trujillo ripping Jim Lyshon's shirt off and then commencing to make a man out of chair, Fernie doing the Homer Sexual on the dance floor, Josh Speer doing the beer bong and asking for more, Denver PD confiscating the beer bong..fortunately all the beer that we snuck into the event was already gone and the list goes on.  Hopefully the photos will do the event justice.

Once the Official reunion event was done at midnight, the die hards migrated to the Bar at the Magnolia.  Upon getting the beer bong back from the cops, we proceeded to continue in the Bar after bringing some more of own beer and tequila in.  Pam Vasquez showed us how to "Party like a Rock Star", Jim Lyshon is stil recovering, and Chris Consol and Cece's Sister...well I'll leave that one alone.

August 10, 2008 - Thornton Rec Center

Back to the park for one last farewell.  This time we had more folks turnout but needless to say the weekend had definitely taken its toll on many.  Most were very slow moving and only Lawrence Torrez was still drinking.  Back to reality for everyone but a great weekend for all that attended and were able to participate.  Highland High School - Class of 1988...They Saved the Best for Last.
