best western sounds great if it is affordable and we have enough people to chip in ! (and based on availability too I guess) I spoke to Joe Gunning last night and he is totally excited, so is John Rowe and I noticed that they are not on our list....neither is paul heustis ? I guess they can figure out a way to be added. I am not sure how that works. I am so excited ! Starr....thanks for the offer of the leg work, I have a feeling we will have to take you up on it !

Hey ladies! Great to hear from you and I can't wait to see everyone! It has been way too long.
I just added Joe and there are about 8 more people that Nick found in the yearbook that I need to add tomorrow. Best Western sounds awesome. I went to Krissi and Corys wedding there in June and it was amazing. The owner, Denise, used to run Dockside before it burned down and she is great at putting stuff like this together. Do you mind looking into prices Star? I think Rick is looking into prices at Fort Ti as well.

I also Heard that the Best Western is nice but very pricey...I am wondering how many are going to come...we need to get different ideas from everybody....:) Terri

I work out at the gym there (Best Western) everyday. I will look into things today before Carly's soccer game and report back as soon as we are home. Oh, I am sure they will ask so is the 4th when we were shooting for???????

I think we should check the days surrounding the 4th (like even the nights of the 2nd and 3rd or afternoon of the 5th)too .... and see what they can offer.
We could always designate a place for people to meet and hang out sometime that weekend and then have a more planned afternoon like get together/bbq or something on the afternoon of the 5th if all else fails. I am just concerned with finding something in Ti on that weekend but I am totally down with whatever. Wish one of us had a "summer home mansion" on lake george we could take over. :)

Hey Guys! I got the prices from the Best Western, not horrible at all as the price per head includes the rental of the room, the staff and what ever we decide for bar options. They gave me 10 pages of quotes. They also gave me a bit of info that may affect our plans a little. As you all remember I am sure, the Mill still has it's yearly shut down normally in April/May however, this yr they are having if for 6 wks starting July, which for us unfortunately means no available room rentals in the area. I agree with everyone that around the 4th would be a great time and the BW did say at this point the facility is still available, just unless we book the rooms soon we may not have them due to all the construction workers.

Ok, now onto the prices.....
If we want a Buffet style meal the package options from $38, $48, or $58 per person (as I mentioned above the prices include rental of the room so that's not an additional charge)
If we want plated dinner service the packages options are $48, $58 and $68 per person.

As for the bar, they do have options for open bar and cash bar, but I think and this is only my option, but I would think doing a cash bar is the most sensible thing to do.

Is there a place on here I can post the entire menu options so that everyone has all the details of what each option offers??? I am sure you don't want me to type 10 pages of stuff on the message board, as it is, I've probably bored you with my mini book here! Sorry!

Starr,
Thanks so much for gathering all of the pricing infomration! Sounds like the buffet with cash bar option is pretty reasonable. Did they say what they require for a deposit or how they would expect payments to be made? It would be great if everyone attending could send their checks directly to the BW for the number of meals they'll be purchasing...

One other question, will this be a grown-ups only event, or will it be appropriate to bring the kids (maybe for just part of the get-together)??? Does anyone know what other classes have done in the past?

We should probably move quick if we want them to hold a date for us and a block of rooms.

Thanks again Starr!

I'm sure what ever we do it will be great!

Yes, thank you Starr for doing this ! I think this definitely sounds like a do-able plan. My questions are pretty much the same as Jean's.(kids or no, how do we pay, what is the deposit required, etc) I would love to see the menu options but certainly do not expect you to type 10 pages !! :) This is super fun !

Hey ladies, You are all super awesome!
My sisters 10 year and Steves 20 year were both weekend long events with a few different things planned. Some with kids, some without. Assuming the 4th works out best for everyone-which it's looking like it will....
Annie, I loved your idea of a Friday night or Sunday afternoon big event. What do you guys think about having a big event Friday since most people should have a long weekend? That way everyone can get back in touch and make plans if they want to hang out randomly throughout the weekend. Bizat mentioned that Attic of Love is usually on a big tour that weekend so it might be cool to do a casual day on Saturday (4th). There will be plenty to do downtown w/ kids/families if we want to set a meeting time. Maybe also plan a meeting place for that night? Go to see Attic or maybe we could get Justins band to play? What do you think?
I love the idea of Matts place catering as well and he's sending me some menus and prices for Friday night and/or Sunday brunch. They serve wine and beer and can accomodate ~ 80 people.
Gourmet Gal also has a lot of options and prices are on her website. Buffets range from $17-$40 but we would need a venue. Maybe the KofC? These are all just Suggestions! So let me know what your thoughts are. I'm posting a list of other possible venues if anyone wants to look into prices:o)

A weekend full of events sounds great! I'm all for some events including the kids and some not, that way we can all catch up with meet each others families. If we are looking at a BBQ somewhere, maybe either Ti Beach or Putnam Ballfield and we could have plenty of activities to keep everyone occupied and make some great memories!
I am also on the 4th of July Committee so I may have to disappear to help set up for this or that, but I will make it work. I do my best work when I'm under pressure! LOL

OMG....You guys kick ass. I just got time to sit down at the computer and read all this. This web site is terrific. I can't wait to see everyone, and if there is anything I can do ....please let me know. I am soooooo excited for this to happen.

Sounds like we have a lot of options! Aimee, I like the idea of doing something big on Friday and then having a casual day on Saturday. I also like the idea of a Sunday breakfast/brunch and having the chance to get together one more time before the weekend ends and we all head for home.

Aimee Salstead (Rockhill)

ok, great! does anyone else have any thoughts on dates/locations and activities? are any of you guys that are still in Ti a member of the K of C? If so, do you mind looking into rental prices for us?

10/14/08 05:08 PM #20

John Rowe

Let's face it.. the amount of places in Ti to have a party are limited. If were looking at 4th of July then that number is even less including hotels. I don't think any one is a member of the K of C but I bet we could get that place cheap. How many people are we thinking? Besides the K of C all that is left is Elks, EMA Club, Fort View, Best Western, Country Club, Burleigh House, and the Generals Gate. I think it all depends what kind of atmosphere and experience we are looking for. I would rather go to the Country club but if were all just looking for a drunk fest then the K of C might be better. What are the thought for Friday compared to Saturday and is there plans for Sunday?

Hey guys! We're still missing 54 classmates and are brainstorming how to track them down. Terri mentioned making a flyer to send to parents, or maybe we could call parents as well. Is anyone crafty with the computer that wants to help out with this or interested in calling people?

11/14/08 09:23 AM #22

Starr Smith (Pinkowski)

Hi Aimee, I am on vacation from work this coming week and if no one else had volunteered I will get to work on a flyer to get out to our Missing Classmates. I was thinking about maybe seeing what an ad in the Times of Ti might cost, maybe we could get some response from that. What do you think? Let me know and I will get to work on it. Hope all is well!

Hey Starr, That would be awesome! I've been crazy busy with school and haven't been on here in a while. I'm tracking down the girl that planned Steves reunion to steal all of her pricing and info. If you can start tracking down people that would be great. I can help w/ finding #'s and calling parents. Anyone else out there that wants to volunteer?!
Good to hear from you Jeremy! I hope you're doing well.

I spoke to Dick Sr. he mentioned the Fish and Game Club in Hague (free), its a pretty big spot from what I remember, I just don't know if people want to travel that far out of the Big City (Ti). The club has Picnic tables, facilities (for the Ladies) ,and a Bon fire pit etc... Its a good spot for kids to run/play during the day and for adults to stumble at night. All info is from my Dad so if interested let me know I will look into it. I believe the Fort is a no go since they have issues right now! Plus I think they would make us follow rules and stuff.

Hey Rick,
That sounds pretty perfect to me. Can you check to see if it's available 4th of july weekend and what our options would be for food/bev?
