Suzanne Cunningham Zucker

Suzanne C. Zucker, 80, of 29 E. Pickaway Street in Kingston, passed away on December 1st, 2021 in Charlotte, North Carolina. After surviving breast cancer twice, Suzanne had been battling Myelofibrosis for the last year and recently Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Upon a bout with sepsis, her body was tired and she went home to Jesus.

Suzanne is survived by her daughters Lisa D. Simmers (husband Joe Simmers) and Jennifer L. Zucker, her granddaughter, Jillian L Mourning Wegner (husband Philip Wegner,) and her three great grandchildren, Viviana, Valen, and Vance Wegner. She is also survived by two half-brothers Jeff Norris (wife Nancy Norris) and John Norris (wife Ruth Ann Norris.)

Suzanne was a graduate of Ohio State with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and Wright State with a Master's in Nursing. She worked in various nursing roles before starting with the VA Hospital in Chillicothe, and being employed there for the last 47 years, running their aftercare program for veterans. She also worked with psych intake at Adena Regional Medical Center for years when they needed help. She was devoted to her career and patients working until a few months shy of her 80th birthday. Suz, as many called her, was passionate about all things Ohio State, especially Buckeye Football and attended most home games each year. Her family meant the world to her, especially her granddaughter, and she got to spend the last months of her life living with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren in Charlotte, North Carolina where she was deeply loved and known as Gigi. While we are utterly heartbroken at our earthly loss of her, we know she will always be with us in spirit, and look forward to the day we will be reunited in Heaven with her and our loved ones who have passed before her.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for any donations to be made to the Stefanie Spielman Cancer Fund at Ohio State University in her honor.

We are holding a graveside service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Kingston on December 11th at 11am.
