Arthur Thomas Spitler  was born in Vanlue, OH on May 27, 1941.  He attended Noble Elementary School, Junior High and graduated from Columbian High School.

Tom was a member of the Tiffin Boy Ranger Troop #3 and the student leader of Troop #6. 

He was killed 4 months after graduation on October 16, 1959 in Sandusky County, Ohio as a result of an industrial accident.  He was working around a grain truck that was being dumped.  The bed of the truck was up and the hoist mechanism was tripped, crushing Tom's neck between the truck body and the frame.  He had only been employed there for one week.
