Lester Cook VIEW PROFILE

Lester E. Cook, 68, of 177 Fourth Ave., Tiffin, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin.  He had attended the class luncheon this past Saturday, January 17th with his wife Sandy.

He attended as many of the class luncheons as he could, sometimes coming alone if Sandy had to work.  He really seemed to enjoy the commaradarie of the group.

Lester was born Sept. 27, 1940, in Crown, Ky., to John M. and Nevada (Brown) Cook. He married Sandra Waterbeck Aug. 7, 1964, in Willard, and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Thomas (Dana) Cook of Goldsboro, N.C.; a daughter, Jennifer (Duane) Burnside of Hamilton; two brothers, Carl Cook and Bill Cook, both of Tiffin; three sisters, Irene Kuhn of Fostoria, Edna Creeger of Tiffin and Nell Cook of Sumter, S.C.; and six grandchildren.

Lester attended Columbian High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during peacetime. He worked at Basic Refractories and at Moore Business Forms in Fremont. Lester was also a member at the New Beginnings Assembly of God and a member of Gold Wing Motorcycle Club.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas Cook; and a brother, Conley Cook.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at New Beginnings Assembly of God with the Rev. Rex King officiating. Burial is following the service at Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m Monday at the church.
