Bob Frias

Bob Frias attended Noble School through 6th grade, then  moved to Fostoria and graduated from Fostoria High School in 1963.

Robert “Bob” Frias, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born August 15, 1945, in Tiffin, to Eulogio “Logi” Frias and Betty Parkins. He married Jane Faeth, October 24, 1969, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church.

 

Bob is survived by his wife, Jane Frias of Fostoria; son, Chad (Stacey) Frias of Hilliard; daughter, Jodi (Mark) Rutherford of Bellevue; grandchildren, Brandon Saldusky, Brady Rutherford, Gabriella and Roman Frias; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh May and Avery Ellen Saldusky; siblings, Joya (Doug) Turpin, Jani Parkins, Marta (Donovan) Lonsway, and Chris Frias; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and stepparents, James Parkins and Bea Frias.

 

He was a 1963 graduate of Fostoria High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1965-1967, and was a medic during his tour in Vietnam. Bob retired from General Dynamics (Lima Tank Plant) and Chrysler in Perrysburg. He also worked as a sales rep. for WFOB after his retirement. He was a member of Fostoria Athletic Boosters, where he was a 50-plus-year member and three-time past president. He was also a member of VFW, American Legion, AMVETS, Moose and Fostoria Browns Backers. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and made many life-long friends doing so. Bob enjoyed hunting with his longtime friends, and they shared many stories about those trips repeatedly. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their sporting activities and coached American Legion Baseball. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians (Guardians) and Cleveland Browns fan and loved collecting their memorabilia. He also loved to travel with his friends and family and enjoyed his many trips to Dominican Republic, Mexico, Florida, and Buckeye Cruise.

 

Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, November 7, 202, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Deacon Paul Feasel officiating. Burial will be at St. Wendelin Cemetery, Fostoria, where military honors will be performed by United Veterans of Fostoria. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the funeral home.
