Another Unsung Hero. Unaware that John had such a distinguished tour in the service. Once again, we find that the wars we fight are as all wars, Unjustified, Undignified, and Unrewarding. THANK YOU JOHN FOR YOUR PRESTINE SERVICE!!!!

John, like most Vietnam vets are quiet about their service.  I would see him at Walmart,  we would talk for awhile.  Hi, how are you doing.  Never talked about Vietnam..  I knew he was a Post member at the VFW.  Never knew of his distinguished service as a MEDIC , and all he accomplished, to conservice and defend the fighting strength  of the soldiers he was assigned with.         I am HONORED to call you Vietnam Brother, Brother  MEDIC, VFW comrade, classmate, and FRIEND...    YOU will be missed and HONORED for your service.   Even though you were quiet about you service, Your actions to your men was noted.  In the service as a medic , the word HERO is not sufficient enough to mark your accomplishments on the battle field.  You will not be forgotten.     REST IN PEACE.. Brother...

I was unaware of the number of classmates that served in Vietnam Republic Of. To hear of so many passing not only is sad but leaves an empty place in my heart for my brother veteran's. May we all meet some day in the great PX.

I remember John Keefe from St. Mary's School. He was a very sweet and quiet guy, but what a hero he became with his service in Viet Nam!  My sympathy to his family. Rest in Peace, John.

The quiet, sweet, humble boy we met in grade school lived a great life and left a wonderful legacy on this earth. In his lifetime, John distinguished himself as a decorated combat medic in Vietnam, a good, kind man, a loving husband, father and friend and a man of deep faith dedicated to God. John has journeyed to his eternal home where we will all meet again someday.

There isn't anything I can add to the comments by those who knew him best.  It's a shame we find out so much about a person after they are gone; another great member of the Class of 67.  May he and all the others Rest in Peace.  Proud to be a Classmate!!
