Thank you Jenny!!  You just don't know how much all of these kind words mean to all of us on

the committee.  We strived very hard to make this the 'Grand Daddy 50th Class Reunion' and

with all of these postive comments, I think all the hard work has paid off.  We loved doing it &

so glad everyone enjoyed it sooo much.   From all the chatter, it was evident when the microphone

couldn't tackle the laughter and fun in the room!!

Again, Sharon and I can't thank all of our classmates and committee members for supporting us.

Yes, I guess (ha) we graciously accepted the 70th BD party!   We swore we wouldn't talk about

any plans for that for at least a year but somehow the ideas are already 'popping' up!!

Love you all...

Karen (&Sharon)

I would also like to extend my thanks for a job well done.  It was so good to see all our class mates and to remember those who could not attend and that are no longer with us.  Again thanks for all your hard work.

Rita Downs (Jacoby)

I want to thank the reunion committee for a job well done.  We all had a great time and everything was wonderful.  Seeing friends that I'm sure alot of us haven't seen is years was amazing!  Why is it that those that live in Tiffin can't seem to make it to our reunions?  I really expected to see the "hometown" folks well represented, oh well their loss!  Really looking forward to the 70th birthday party, let's tell everyone we can so the turn out will be even higher.  Again thanks to all involved, it was a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for mailing out the booklet.  I appreciate all the time and effort spent making it.  I'm sorry I couldn't attend.  Judging from the comments, everyone had a great time.

Thanks Russ, Rita, and John for your nice comments.  And John, hope you enjoy the book!

I know Sandy (Roberts) Anderson and Sharon (Hunker) Smith are glad you appreciate all the

efforts of the booklet!

Rita, don't know why Tiffin classmates don't come.  Out of the 191 classmates we sent letters

to, 71 of those live in Tiffin or near our area!   We don't see alot of them but when we mentioned

the reunion, we could usually tell they really weren't interested.  Maybe hearing about this one will

spark more interest for our 70th BD party in 2 years.

Really we are so thrilled everyone had such a great 2 evenings of sharing and fun!

Okay, now I really feel like an ass for not showing up; don't like to air my problems, but have been battling a wee bit of a slump and have to force myself to leave home some times. This is not like me at all; I usually am on-the-go; hopefully, I will come out of my shell for the next get-together. I love you all and I really do appreciate all the work put into out class reunions. Julie

OK!  That's it.  I may just have to leave California for a few days and get to the next one!!!  Not the Party Animal I used to be but I can be as good at it once as I once was!!

Good to hear from you Mike, Julie and Linda and so hope we do see you all in 2 years!

We are so glad we are able to keep this website going!  It's really kept the chatter going since

the class reunion, so we know all who are registered are checking it.!  Take care everyone.

Thank you Ron & Rita (Downs) Jacoby, for putting together this wonderful photo of Howard Strasbaugh, proudly serving our Country as a United States Marine!                                                                                                       I know how honored he would have been, and how much his family is, to have this displayed at our High School.

Dear Classmates,

Ron & Rita personally delivered the plaque to Tiffin a week ago.  Rich Focht treated Steve & I

and Ron & Rita to a TJ Willies lunch to receive it.   I requested to show it to the family before it

was hung at Columbian High School since they are my neighbors.  They are so grateful to have seen

it and that we as a class honored Howard in this way.  It is absolutely beautiful..Ron & Rita did a

beautiful job..thanks so much to both of them.

We also need to keep Rich in our thoughts and prayers this week..his sister Marsha passed away.

Please know we are all thinking of you , Rich.

We will deliver the plaque to the school when things settle down for Rich.

Thanks to those classmates who donated extra money for this project.  Most of it was donated

in time and cost by Rita and Ron.

Merry Christmas to all of you Classmates of 1965

PS.  Jack Yager is in town for a couple of weeks and we are trying to get some people rounded up for

a lunch at some point next week to see him.  Let me know if you are interested and I'll post something

here again by first of next week!!

Good job, folks!! What a great tribute to our classmate, Howard, and, I'm sure, a source of pride for his family.

To you, Howard; Hand Salute..Rest in peace.

The memory shall be ours."             H W Longfellow

Leslie Cromley (Phillips)

I'm  so sorry to hear about your mom. She was such a sweet lady. She worked with my mom at J.J. newberries I know my mom thought highly of her and I also had the pleasure of working with her when I worked there when I was in high school. She was always so sweet to me and to everyone. Maybe her and my mom are up there talking about all the good times they had at Newberries   Leslie

Karen, Mike, Leslie & Rita:  Thank you for your knd words about my mother's passing.  She would have been 95 this coming April.  Her health had been steadily failing over the past 3 years & I think she just decided it was her time to go.  My sister and I were at her bedside for her last week until last Friday when she quietly slipped away to join my father.  Let me tell you the hospice personnel were so wonderful.  They kept her comfortable while also helping my sister & I let her go.  We are so grateful for their gentle care.

Leslie, I had forgotten that you were connected to Mom through the J.J. Newberry Co. where Mom worked in the millenary department for many years --first up in the mezzanine, then in the basement.  My brother Gary also was a dishwasher behind the lunch counter for a couple of years while attending Tiffin U.  There he met his future wife, Susan Kraft, who was a Newberry sales clerk.

Many thanks for your thoughts,

Bill

Bill

You are so welcome.  It's hard to say goodbye and yes, Hospice is wonderful in every way.

We had them for our parents and couldn't have done it without them.

If you need any help with the memorial service back here, let me know.

Take care

Blessings and peace

Many, many prayers are offered for Y'all in Florida & those in Texas, also.  Our Class of '65 honestly cares for one another.  We may not converse often enough, but we readily share in others happiness & lend a shoulder coupled with fervent prayers when that need comes about. So very relieved you & your family are safe :-). God's Blessings
