I went to school with Mick from Lincoln Grade Scool through Columbian High. We all could hope for the kind of legacy and heart felt memories Mick has left. He had the sweetest demeanor; ultimately kind with a genuine warm Heart. There are people who leave their footprint in your heart and Mick, you left yours :-)
Gosh, this is so new. I remember the day I heard it on Facebook. I read his obituary and found that he had turned into a God fearing man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. Heck, when he was a kid, we already knew that is how it would turn out. One of my best guy friends in grade school. Lived down the street on Ohio and I lived on Clinton. Diane Ballreich and I (again) use to play down in the park with Mickey and Dave. I remember him being diagnosed in High School with diabetes and how scary it was. I am sure he is missed by all his current day family and friends and I miss him too.
I don't even know where to start with memories of Mick! We grew up together and lived pretty close to each other. We were together a lot when we were young, riding our bikes around and playing made up games. I remember "marrying" Mick in a pretend ceremony in the park across the street from his house. I think I always had a crush on him, and he was always my bested friend. I enjoyed seeing him at reunions and catching up on each other's lives. I am sure he is being missed very much by his family and friends!
Did he play the drums in high school? I THINK he was this hunk on drums and I went home and tried to convince my Dad that I had always wanted to learn drums and could I please????? No dice. He was a handsome guy.
